If you are going to wentwindrock this year and are looking for a cabin or camping
Please check out www.windrockpark.com. They offer all type of housing.

Also if you are planning on attending the event you may want to start booking right now. Windrock tends to get very busy in the fall.

I'll get on reserving my cabin tomorrow...We'll probably just get a small cabin, which means we'll have 2 bunks open in ours, if you don't mind crashing with 2 smaller kids.

So camping sucks, is what I'm hearing.

Depends on your camping I guess. I tented it last year and slept like a baby every night.
(no, that was not chemically induced).

I plan on tenting it again this year, going to make few additions to my set up from lessons learned. Like having a smaller tent to the side for gear/storage.

Awww tent camping isn't that bad if you have the right gear AKA enough tarps. I stayed nice and dry in the monsoon of '13 when I watched kevin empty his bathtub uh tent I mean in the morning.

We had really good weather this past year for tenting it. It got just cool enough at night that you could sleep outside near a fire and was warm during the days to heat up the ground.

Can anyone speak on the sites in the overflow area? We tented in that circle by the bath-house this year.
They were so rocky and the site I was in had this weird slope to it. It seemed like the overflow ones were a bit grassier.

^ That's the main reason we ended up in the cabin. Too rocky, and that slope kinda sucked. I think the camp spots further back past those spots look a lot better.

The top row wasn't bad grassy and away from noise and headlights

The overflow spots are bigger and better. But I will say this. out of the 30-40 sites back there I would say there are probably 10 good ones. But each site is 4 to 5 times bigger then the one's by the bathroom. I have stayed back there twice now. The best selection of sites back there is the last row at the very top of the hill. There are a few other sites here and there that are good but most of them have steep hills involved in them. For those who can afford it a cabin is the way to go.

Nice heads up on that Metz. appreciate it. The ones by the bathroom were tiny it seemed. And everyone rolling by got the dog all antsy and that was a joy to deal with. I think next year, cabin for sure because we will have lil obi with us. But this being the last year we will roll without him, tenting it to save a bit. Plus, big enough tent makes things easy.

I will look for spots in the back though. I know the overflow was kinda first come first serve right? they did not have anything online (last year) as far as spot numbers.

Actually he ditched you for a nice comfy bed, air conditioning, a fridge, stove, microwave, clean toilet, and shower. [emoji12]

And don't forget a coffee maker!

Okay, yeah, that all wins. Hoping to have the dual battery set up this year so I can bring my coffee maker.
We are looking to get a pop up canopy thing to set up on the back of the tent, make a small like 2 room set up to try to avoid stinkys getting in all the gear.
and to avoid having the dog in the main tent.

Yeah the overflow area is first come first serve. Last year to be honest there might of been 7-10 campsites in the overflow area taken up.
