I'm new here. Long Island, NY. 2002 XEV6 Non SC Silver Xterra. I had come across this site from an FB post. I frequent ClubX and NeXterra now and then and LINXC which has gone dormant for the most part.

Bought an X
So glad to be Here!

Hey fellas (and ladies) long time listener first time caller lol I have looked at a lot of different Xterra forums and decided this was the one for me. I bought my first Xterra in October i believe, I was at a dealer looking at a jeep and was very disappointed in that particular Jeep as it needed a lot of repair, I voiced my opinion on the Jeep and its price tag and let the guy know I was no where close to paying that much for that Jeep. He introduced me to my Xterra, it was love at first drive, it drove, handled, and rode greater than any of the jeeps I test drove. After a 45 minute test drive in which i made the Xterra do it all i bought it and have never loved another as I do my X. So now im ready to start modding it and riding some trails. However I have no one to go with and Im thinking i need one more 4x4 to go with in case I get "overly ambitious" about my Xterra's capability at this stage, so if anyone lives near or is wheeling near me in Indiana lemme know id love to get in on some events and great Xterra fun! Right now my X is sitting at stock height with 265/70/16 Firestone Destination A/Ts all around. Currently i have not removed anything but as soon as I can get under it without freezing to the ground I plan on removing flaps, step rails, and possibly rear sway bar. I do have a question though how much will removing the rear sway bar affect ON road performance, as it is my DD. Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome in. No effect to speak of. I'm a 2001, and haven't noticed it gone at all.

Welcome David... I got a 2000 and removed the sway bar loooong ago. No problems and mine is my DD as well. There are a few Indiana Xers and as soon as the weather warms up I know you'll be seeing more of them. Welcome to MAXterra. As soon as I can get a few things going the MAXterra group will be a bit more active.

Welcome aboard David! Glad to have you and we are looking forward to your first pics taking the x offroad! Take the swau bar off and never look back. Had mine off for about 6 years and never noticed. This is my dd and I tote my kids around everyday in it.
