Vdc and slip light

Are you slipping?

What are the conditions in which it comes on and goes off?

Mine flash when I'm in a situation where my wheels slip, like taking a corner a little too quick on a gravel road.

^^^ Typically the correct diagnosis.

Have heard (but not substantiated it) that a Nissan dealer with their scanners can tell you which one is bad other than trial & error method.
Probably pricey test though.

I have an '05 like you. My vdc light will come on if I punch it too much on a right turn, especially if the pavement is wet. Experts correct me if I am wrong, but the light comes on when the car detects wheels turning at different speeds. The vdc system will cut power or apply braking (not sure which) to restore similar speeds on all the wheels.

That sounds correct to me. I know for me I have to be very deliberate in order for the light to come on so if it's coming on too easily then there may be something wrong, otherwise you'll know it was you doing it.

Yeah, I had my SLIP light and "VDC off" light stay on the other day after taking a curve to sharp. Nissan said it would a steering alignment sensor. Never heard of that but just what the tech told me.

I've noticed on mine those lights come on whenever I have another issue. The check engine light came on last week and both of them popped on with it. Ended up not having anything to do with the check engine light. Ended up being a loose battery cable, so no idea why vdc and slip came on with it.
