So obviously gravity plays a part but even a little more than that I feel like I should be able to take hills better? I can get up to about 70 but that might be tops? I took it to my mechanic and they said the e brake was sticking on one side, after that it felt better but I still feel like theres one more thing that's holding me back? Thoughts?? Thanks!

Quick update, Nissan called, (I emailed them) turns out I have a recall on my fuel delivery unit so we'll see what happens

It depends on the hill size...and momentum...if I can get 80 before the hill I can usually hold 65-70 for a mild hill haha, how much did supercharging cost cruecible?

Came factory with one luckily, I don't even want to know what the cost is to install one for a naturally aspirated X

You can pick one up on eBay for like $800 or so. Unless you're lucky enough to find one in a scrap yard to rebuild..

Sent through an exorcism and salt flavored shotgun shells.

Supercharged FTW. I'd really like to drive a normally aspirated one to see how big the difference is

I have a 2003 SE S/C, also factory. Putting steelies on with M/T tires has made her a bit more sluggish on the hills with the added weight though-am I the only one who cringes when thinking about the drop in mileage over mountain passes? I swear she acts like she's doing keg stands with premium fuel when things start to get hilly. :dead:

I still only have 31's on mine so it's not too bad yet. I towed an 8 foot wide aluminum trailer with a full sized Polaris quad uphill through a couple mountain passes and I was impressed at it's ability to do so, but not impressed with the gas mileage. I did the DIY air intake mod with a K&N drop in and that helped a lot, the supercharger whines like a spoiled child now. I just picked up some NGK plugs and wires that I'll throw on here in a week or so and I'm anxious to see the gains from that. I'd love some headers and exhaust too, but that'll be after the steering upgrades and suspension finishing :kewl:

I've got a new fuel filter floating around my cargo area waiting to be installed, but the air intake mod sounds like a good idea too. My husband and I have been throwing around the idea of changing to headers on both the vehicles as well but he's been a bit more hesitant with his because we just plopped down some cash to install new cats on his 2006. (Fun install, cold day!) A transmission cooler is also on the list to hopefully fix the issue of foaming while under moderate to heavy load, despite several fluid changes. It always occurs on steep mountain climbs on the trails in Ouray and Silverton, doesn't happen during steep climbs on paved roads or the trails in Moab. If that doesn't fix it, I'll be facing a transmission rebuild.

The fuel filter was fun installing it myself. And by fun I mean horrible. I finally bought some tool that really helps with stuck hoses and that made all the difference. After I finally got it off, I was shocked at how heavy the old one was from who knows how many years of being on there before i bought it. But that transmission stuff sounds no bueno, hopefully it's nothing too expensive. Which also reminds me I should drain and fill mine here soon.

I'm not looking forward to the fuel filter install, but I've noted that others have reported marked improvements in fuel mileage after replacing the old gunky filter and I wondered if that might have more to do with my drop in mileage than heavy aftermarket rims. If it doesn't, then at least I've replaced the filter and it's one less old component.
