Here is a little experiment. I have a ton of tools in my trunk and I didn't want them out in the open so I made this trunk box. It gives me room for one more box too. I will configure that one a little differently than this one.

So I got the hinges at harbor freight. The sticker is from Graveyard Graphics. The black is truckbead coating and the white is rustoleum high performance enamel.

I actually just bought a plastic box (tub) and that's where I store some of the more bulky items or items I don't really use much or won't use much. Although it's not as AWESOME as yours and durable, it still does the job. Are you planning on bolting it to the bed somehow so it won't move around (not like it's going to be flying everywhere but just wondering). Thought it'd be a good thing to go with you not wanting items out in the open, if someone WAS to try and break into your truck to steal your tools, they won't go far if it's locked/bolted/tied to the bed.

Yeah. I am going to raise it a bit and install a lock I think. For now it is more just an organization thing

It is interesting to see the many ways people build these things. Here's mine, just a simple box to keep stuff from sliding all over and keep it out of sight.

The plywood you have on the floor, is it drilled in? How is it held in place?

I built my own drawers for my trunk about a month ago. I want to carpet it; what kind of carpet did y'all use??

There is a Raingler net I have never seen before on a different website that is a shelf for rear cargo area, tailgate net and cargo tie down net all in one.
