Well, I bought my first Xterra yesterday. A 2013 S model, manual transmission. I know almost nothing about Xterras. Hell, I guess I'm not even certain that it's an "S," but I'm confident that I got the transmission right! I've always liked the look of the Xterra, I'm about to turn 62, was due to get a new vehicle and thought I'd give one a try. I love the look of the beefed-up Xterras, but at my age, I really don't see myself doing any rock climbing or baja stuff. The heavy duty front bumpers do catch my eye, though. This area is rich in whitetail deer, which can do tremendous damage to the front end of a vehicle when struck. I've only ever hit 2, but near misses are a way of life here.
I guess I have to start calling it an "X." I'm learning already. As I have no familiarity with these vehicles, I'll probably just spend most of my time here reading, and learning. I'm looking forward to having this site for reference and thanks in advance for the knowledge you guys are so generously sharing.

Welcome! We love our Xterras for any use so ask away. We'll be glad to help if we can.

Typically the "S" package came with the basic radio and most likely the aluminum wheels but you'll usually have the wet basket on the roof rack and the utilitrack system will be uncovered in the rear cargo area (little rails beside the cover).

Welcome aboard ! Everybody like's pic's............Hint........... :D
You make it really easy to take a hint! Well, I've only taken one picture so far, so let's see if I can pull off getting it from my phone to here. Since you mentioned pics, I looked for, but didn't find, a collection of photos here somewhere. I scanned forum titles and didn't notice it.

Everyone typically has their pictures in their respective build threads, here for 2nd Gen:

Welcome from PA. Also high in white tail population here. If looking for an upgrade, get a full upgraded bumper and not a "damage multiplier" bar. However, be mindful, they're heavier. Suspension upgrades are also recommended.

If not going that path, stay stock. A deer hit with stock bumper is a hell of a lot better than a deer hit with a damage multiplier brush guard.
