Went about 300K on mine. Had a head gasket leak that I tried to fix myself. Got in over my head and got rid of it. Still regret that, but I'm not doing to buy one now to daily.

If I had a need, yeah. I never wheeled much when I did own it, and with where I live, there's maybe 2 places total where I could _legally_ wheel and they're 2+ hours away. I stick around because the people here are awesome and it lets me live a bit vicariously through the adventures.

DONT YOU LEAVE US

I have over 205k on my supercharged one, but it is starting to show some concerning signs. I would trust a non supercharged one to 300k like Muadeeb said.

I daily a 2003, but just had a motor put in it at 161. But only because the PO ran it out of oil and locked it up.

Not my favorite daily probably, but reliable as hell.

I absolutely abused my first gen and still she gave over 400k of very fun miles.
I bought it with 23k on the clock and I sold it to the pick-n-pull with over 440k on the clock.
I was so ignorant when I first bought it and I took it down every trail I could find and was not very careful.
She always came away with new scratches and bruises, but she taught me so much and by the end I had so much more experience.

If you can find a first-gen SE (non-turbo, the turbos were crap), and it still drives well, I say go for it.
They truly are bullet proof. Because I wasn't in a position to keep her and turn her into the project car I wanted to, I sold her off. If I had just held onto her for another 3 months, I'd still have her and would be well into rebuilding the engine.

Supercharged. Never turbo.
