don't feel bad dave, I'm with you, tilt shift is definitely not for me either. I shoot for details, doing something to make my details disappear is like kicking me in the goods then insulting my ability to take the pic to begin with. I prefer the ones that make something smaller look bigger and more realistic.

I think some are better than others. The pikes peak ones are the best that I have seen so far. I don't care for the ones where the truck gets blurred too.

OK, one of my first attempts with a TRUE Tilt + Shift Lens:

Camera: Canon 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
Tilt: -8°
ISO 100
1/320
f/3.5



You just can't do this s*** with a regular lens! This is all in-camera, no Photoshop. I have a lot to learn...more to come!
