Oldfart

Test Drive
Yup I am an old fart, hence the name. Hailing from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Canada. Just picked up my second Xterra, first one was a Gen 1 as well. For many years wheeled Jeep CJ, YJ, MJ, and last one was a TJ Rubicon. Why an Xterra? Always liked the platform, and style. So when I decided to start less dedicated trail rig for a daily/adventure, travels/adventure, and less a rock crawler rig duty here I am. So I will ask lots of dumb questions, and advice from those who have been beating up the Xterra’s for fun. My long term goal is to build using simple, but quality. Not looking to lift it to the moon. But to run 32”-33” tire’s, effective armor skids etc. I put more merit on reliable, sturdy, and simple principals. Using a simple formula, armor, and good tires will take you further than cheap lifts, and broken parts! So without boring you further let the games begin.;)

Welcome from Petawawa Ontario. The stock Xterra can run 33” ( 285/75/16) tires with a simple melt mod ( well documented in the how to section for second gens.
