Big fan of history, especially civil war period. You want a good book with insight on Lincoln and ways to be a good leader, read “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln”.

Great read if you’re into that sort of thing.

I just finished Blowing Sand in His Soul: Bates Wilson the Heart of Canyonlands. It's about Bates Wilson, the Superintendent of Arches who basically made Canyonlands National Park. Whether you agree or not, the stories of what this place was like back in the '60 are amazing. It really makes me want to GTFO and drive. Highly recommended.

I'm working on finishing Asimov's Foundation series. Just can't seem to make it through the last couple books right now. It's hard to find reading time in the summer.

There isn't much I won't read. History, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, True Crime, Science, etc. .... Finished "The Radium Girls" not long ago. About all the girls making glow in the dark dials for watches, military etc. in the early 1900's. Scary to see how little has changed with regard to corporate treatment of the worker, and their willingness to cover up their own dung pile all in the name of profit and greed.

I'm currently reading "Treasure In a Cornfield" by Greg Hawley. The account of the rediscovery, excavation and salvaging of the Steamboat Arabia, which sank fully-loaded with merchandise in the Missouri river in 1856. Amazing story and incredible recovery of artifacts from pre-Civil War America, most perfectly preserved by the cold wet sandy mud.

I wanted to stop at the museum on my way back from Co but didn't feel like dealing with lunchtime downtown traffic when I rolled through. Next time I'm going to try to get down there and see it.

I’ve read the majority of the adventures of Mitch Rap series by Vince Flynn / Kyle Mills( The original author passed away from Prostate cancer a couple years ago)
This series is considered a post 911 thriller.

Also a couple good books 2 that helped to prepare the mind for high stress environments are On Combat, and the other is On Killing both books were written by. Retired LCol Grossman. They help to explain the psychological and physiological reactions of the human body and mind of soldiers/and first responders under extraneous stress situations.
