Just found this thread. I'll have to look into Hunger Games, seems like a popular read, what type of book is it?. Currently re-reading The 4 Agreements By Miguel Ruiz.

The hunger games is an addicting series. There is a small love triangle but the triangle part of it isn't nearly as prominent as people would make you think. It's mostly just between two characters. That being said, the love portion of the book isn't as prominent as the distopian society and the violent hunger games used by the government to instill fear in society. It's a good read.

I just bought The Hobbit, I'd never read any of that series and figured I've been missing out on some awesome details. And it doesn't hurt the movie is coming out this winter.
The Hobbit is next on my list too, don't know why I never read it but read the others. I'm currently reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and not too long ago I finished World War Z by Max Brooks........it was awesome!

Gunna (and anyone else interested in zombie apocalypse stories), if you liked World War Z, check out Feed and Deadline by Mira Grant. The third book in the trilogy, Blackout comes out this year.

On the same note, not a actual book but Adrians Undead Diary is a great read online. Written in diary/blog form and tons of side fiction.

Hey J! I just got done reading "The Art of Racing in the Rain", you were right! Such a good book! I would kill to have an Enzo. I want a dog so bad but can't have one right now! Nice suggestion... thanks!

Me? Or someone else with a J in their name? I only ask because I've never read that book, or even heard of it. But now that you have recommended it, I'm gonna check it out.

I just read American Sniper and Red Circle, both are about SEAL Team snipers. I'm about to read Lone Survivor, which is also about a SEAL team and their demise in Afghanistan.

I'm a little over half way through The Hobbit now. I also had a LOTR marathon about a week ago and just having read the little bit of the hobbit that I had at that point I understood so much more about the background of the movies. It's all very interesting. I'm thinking about paying for Amazon Prime to get one free book a month now because it seems that may be about my speed I'll finish books. That and getting free two day shipping and streaming video won't hurt either.

Any other free books out there for the nook that are worth the read? I have attempted both of the suggestions from Finky- The Shuffling Dead and Death Throes- neither were really my type of read. :-(

Just finished Tom Clancy's Dead or Alive. First book in the Jack Ryan universe in almost ten years, and it's one of the best. Gonna start Locked On soon.

Finished Locked On yesterday. Clancy's new generation of international spies is exactly what I've been missing for the past few years.

They're worth it. But if you don't want to spend like that, the compendiums can be had in hardcover for about half the price of the individual GN volumes. Compendium One is volumes 1-8 for about $40. It's the route I would have gone if I had not bought Vols. 1-4 before the compendium was released.

Also, I know I've mentioned it before, but I have to sing her praises again. Mira Grant's Newsflesh trilogy is a must read if you're a fan of The Walking Dead and similar stuff. IMO, it is better than TWD.

^Oooo I'll have to look in to those. In terms of graphic novels, Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore write/make some great ones *cough Sandman series cough*

I went ahead and bought The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor. I read the sample and enjoyed it.

I finally finished the Hobbit today. I am gonna probably go back to that series after I finish up with this new book.

I'm not sure why I decided to read it, but it's good so far. Every now and then I get a wild hair and pick up one of the classics that for whatever reason I never read when I was younger.

Not much of a book fan but I did read one a while back a Hunter Thomas book about when he followed the Hells Angels. It was really good. A true story of his drunken and drugged up experiences!! I can't remember the name though.
