Tonight will be a nice dark Pinot noir from our favorite small winery , good deep Smokey taste from being made in old whiskey barrels . And you gotta love a place that the winemaker comes up to the tasting room riding a mini bike covered in dirt from working the field . To me that really says he pours his heart and passion into what he sells.
That's cool man! I really need to explore more of these type places around me. We have one brewery close by, another and a meadery opening soon and a whiskey place just across the border I still need to check out. Wine is further north in the flatter land...
here in the pnw we have so many brewery’s it’s almost scary . We have gone to a lot and haven’t even scratched the surface .
Drinking a Jubelale, from Deschutes Brew.. Like mentioned Lots of Brews to choose from.. just not enough time.. Or win Lottery, An pub crawl for week's..
gonna be a late night.. SKYWARN Class tonight.. With in 30 minutes After class beer or whiskey shall be my reward. ;-)
Evan Williams green label bourbon. It's cheap here in Northern VA, $20 for 1.75. I know there's better, but something about this just sits right with me. It's my go to. Special occasions, I'll find myself a small batch local. Mmmm....bourbon.
BEER time.. SANTA.. shall not pass my area.. I have a Snare trap or his Fancy flying deer. But least his beer is good. ;-)
Mmm squirt. Edit; just realized how bad that sounds for anyone who doesn't know what squirt is. For real. Squirt is a delicious soda. Lol
I recently rediscovered Fresca again after 15/20 year's . It's like 7up and mountain dew had a bastard child . Different but familiar, a nice change .But the real question is does it mix well with [ INSERT FAVORITE LIQUOR'S HERE ] I'll be on a Fresca fact finding mission and shall return once I'm soober I mean slober, ? no , subered up , ah well ufck it then !!!
Hey Terry , was reading thru the post's and when you said their's a distillery across the border I decided to see where Covington was and noticed it's straight down 220 from where I used to go deer hunting when I was in my 20's at Jack's mountain next to the town of Monterey. Just a great place to be up in the moutain's looking down at the small town. the gas station sold hunting lic/supplies -check in station- post office local gathering spot really enjoyable. They use to have LOT'S of public land , was wondering if you ever been up that way doing any wheeling ?
I've never done much wheeling up that way but a buddy and I camped up there in March for a Ham radio contest. There was some 4x4 work through the snow to get to our site and it was plenty slick the next day. It's a neat little town. I like the little diner up there pretty good. Only had a hot dog there but will hopefully be going back this year to compete again. If you get down here again, let me know.
Away from home for work so having a wee bit of Canadian Club % Rye. Sweet and fruity with a hint of grains. I think it would be better mixed with some Gingerale than neat.
