the manual somewhat mentions this. if i unlock with the fob and do not get in the vehicle within a few min it will relock. (normal operation). and i have found out with winter here....if i start it up with keys in the ignition and shut the drivers door, it will not lock. (lockout protection..a good thing) the drivers door will stay unlocked.

Same since 2005 (I believe). I could start my '05 Frontier, hit the door lock button and they'd immediately unlock so you couldn't lock yourself out of a running vehicle.

Just don't unlock it, set the keys in the driver's seat and walk back into the house for something. 'Cause that's ends badly and you have to go dig your spare FOB out and hope the battery isn't dead in it.

1st gens have it too. When I was was in exile, I would remove the fob from the keychain and keep it with me so I could run back in the house to finish getting ready

1st Gens don't have the autolock feature though, just the anti-lock when the keys are in the ignition and you try to lock the door with it open.

Actually, all Nissans do this with keyless entry. It's the function of putting your keys in the vehicle, but not the ignition, that started messing with people and locking their keys in the vehicle.

That is pretty freaking awesome. Where does one get such a wonderful device?

I know Jersey on TNX was selling the ones he could get ahold of. I don't remember if he said what vehicle they were originally used for though but I remember him saying they were all gone.

Sent from my mansion in Grouchland.
