Pulled and bew out my charcoal canister this evening. Cleaned and tested the vent valve.

Everything seemed OK and the valve functioned just fine. No return of the CEL YET but it didn't seem to help the issues fueling up. Still can't get over 1/2 way on the pump handles
Hmm.. I've been planning to do the same due to the fueling issue of shut off. Mine has been working fine but as is gets cooler it tends to act up. I tend to do what Brunnie does and just set it at lowest click and wait around.

Does this Mean BIGFOOT IS REAL?? Was to be fed a Fresh Human... ;-)

I can't speak for your area, but I had a very interesting conversation with a member of the Southern Mountain Ute reservation, he was the head park ranger for them, that said there was some large hairy creature living up in one of the canyons around Mesa Verde. He had a photo of a foot print, and it sure wasn't a bear paw, and it wasn't a cat either.

Our neck of the woods gets lots of Reports,, Well, used too.. and the ones that did Report, tend to be well chemically enhanced.. With the amount of people with Cell phones.. Which has a faster Photo taking Software, less chance of blur..

I spent many hours in the dark, in the woods. Only thing that was a concern were Cartel grow's. Stumbled on a few of those.

If I found one.. would do my best to capture its Hair, or scat. for DNA Lab testing. With out hard confirmed data.... Oh well, gives me excuse to play in the woods!.

So, that giant steel bar behind the head unit, is that grounded? I've now got the typical pop and whine from the amp which is likely a grounding issue, and before I go and rip things up a bunch more times and then reassemble, I just wanna make sure I can ground the stereo to that, or if I have to look for something else in there.

That's where mine is grounded. no issues for the past 2-3 years

Yes.

I have the same pop and hiss on my back right speaker. I blame the amp under the seat. It's next to go.

I made the pop go away in the 06 with a ground loop isolator, but the whine is annoying. I'm really not sure why the factory one doesn't have the issue but aftermarket does, it's using the same wires...

It's not really a hiss, it is a RPM-dependent whining. The 06 didn't do it initially, but was starting to do it in the last year or so, mostly when it was semi-cold outside. I suspect the ground wiring was starting to go, but never got the time to properly troubleshoot it.

The 15 started doing it as soon as I swapped the head unit, so I'm gonna do more playing with the grounds. If I can't make it go away with messing with the grounding, I might order some more ground loop isolators and see if that does anything, or possibly a filter for the power input line on the head unit.

Best location to lift front corner with a bottle jack, to change a front tire? A is just aft of the stock scissor jack lift point. B is fore of it. C is the flat area of the Shrock engine skid plate near the LCA mount point.

Any of those look ok as long as the vehicle is stable.
What brought this up was that I had showed my wife how to change a tire in preparation for a recent trip. The rear is pretty straightforward but there were a few options that I've used on the front.

I agree I feel OK with any of them... curious if there were any differing strong opinions otherwise.

I like the furthest forward the most if only because it's the least amount of lifting effort.

How about A,B,C in alphabetical order. Everything should be in alphabetical order, right? Also, if the bottle jack top has a cup to it (or add one to it), put it over the slider mounting bolt in (A). keeps it from moving out of position when the truck leans as it's raised. Safety first.

Any one of those will work.. Figure Structure is strong.. Plastic Trim is weak!. Same with Towing
Do not add a hook to the Plastic bumper. ( YEP, Buddy done that when stuck in snow Then bitched I pulled too hard! Till I showed him his hook point! Ugh ).

First Would stress.. Safe location. to even think of jacking up Vehicle. IF chewing up a tire to get 1/4 mile down the road.. So be it!!
People drive like Idiots!!! and will not hesitate to kill you!!.

We installed the bumper but puzzled about this bolt. Why is it there? What’s the use for it

I acquired enough to buy one. The 4ycl on the back of the tow truck is questionable. But KA24DE with 5spd. Do some 240 upgrades drive to work and save gas. But really I need to move out before I buy. Gas is $6 a gallon here lol.

Ok, so my stupid question for the time being. I'm pulling the rear bumper and plastic corner caps off this weekend for some work. I'm also planning on installing the tow hitch that I've had sitting in the driveway for several months.

I have no bolts for the hitch (was sitting in the back of my sister's 02 when she bought it). What size bolts should I get? I'm assuming they need to be grade 10 metric bolts, but I'm not sure how long they need to be, and what diameter. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be grateful so I can pick them up prior to my buddy coming on Saturday to give me a hand with a few things.

If the nothing lights up on the dash or anything when trying to start using a jump pack, does it mean the battery is completely discharged, or do I need to start looking for chewed cables?

Just as a follow up, charging the battery overnight seems to have worked.

Anybody have any ideas on an easy way to close this gap? This is about 7.5” from front to back. I’m guessing they left it both for wiring and due to the original satellite radio antenna. I carry firewood and small things here in front of the tent, but if I’m not very particular about tie downs some end up spilling onto the roof.

I could do bungees sort of spiderwebbed across just for camping trips, but I’d like something a little sturdier. Just not permanent.

How about an L shaped piece of sheet metal from the rear bar forward to the rear mount bolt and then up to the bar above the lights? With a little bit of thought you could make it removable so you could get to the wiring, yet cargo wouldn't hit anything.

What’s the shelf life of diff oil? I have 75w-90 and 80w-90 both Lucasoil that have been sitting on my shelf almost two years. Sealed the whole time. Wondering if I can still use it or if I should just get new stuff.

side question: is there a different brand I should get?

It'll be fine. The oil *in* my diffs is over four years old and it's still working great. That's a much harsher environment than your shelf!

You say that, but the difference is, the oil in your diff has had an active lifestyle. And it is scientifically proven that people who exercise live longer than people who just sit around and do nothing.

Ok, so, running a power inverter and a small tankless AC air compressor, mostly to fill up tires and inflatable boats when on the road.

Im thinking this way I have an inverter in the vehicle that I can use for other things, and can use the air compressor in the house for small things easier than having to drag those to the garage to use the big compressor.

Doable? Completely insane and I should just get a DC compressor for the vehicle? Know of any affordable AC compressors that aren't garbage? Google is being a pain searching for that last one, for some reason it thinks I actually mean those dinky useless-for-trucks tire inflators that plug into the accessory port...

A small pancake AC compressor is going to draw 10 Amps so the output of the converter would have to be at least a 12-1500 watt unit. Also, most inverters are squarewave output and not all AC devices like squarewave, they prefer sinewave. California Airtools is a source for what you are looking for. Personally, since what you are looking for is larger than say a Viair 400P it seems smarter to me to get a 12 volt compressor.
