Good gracious this was a long day. They paid dozens of us to sit in the shop with only about an hour's work to split between us. We've had recovery boilers in this mill since 1972. THE ONE THAT'S DOWN RIGHT NOW TO BOOT. And they can't figure out what the schedule needs to look like for it. The first 48, we can't do anything.

Just got back from a two day trip. Man, yesterday was a long day. Rolled out at 6:30am, and didn't get to camp until about 8pm.

Get home, and we found out a friend of ours that had been battling cancer for years passed away this morning.

Well. shiat.

I have very limited cellular internet here in Cape Coral- the eye of Hurricane Ian passed about 10 miles north of my house - very quiet- and you could almost see the sun- we had 6 hrs 100-115 mph winds - if our homes weren’t built with steel reinforced concrete masonry construction , the homes on the west half of Lee county would have been flattened like Hurricane Katrina did to New Orleans in 2005. Tomorrow makes the 6th day without power- I have a large generator , Deep cycle battery - 750 watt inverter- AND my trusty 2001 Xterra to make gas runs to Costco before genny gas.
I’ve had enough adrenaline excitement to last me for the rest of my retirement.
I scored a couple cases of free govt MRE vegetarian meals from the national Guard - enough for 20 days of wilderness camping- or the Zombie Apocalypse. Picture was taken about 6 miles from my house-

Holy shiat, man! Glad you're OK. Was this your first hurricane? Does it question your desire to live in Florida?

Someone needs to explain to me why I get my best sleep between 5-8am. I can go to bed early as ufck and I will toss and turn and wake up every 30 minutes. But for those three hours, I don't move, I don't have any memory of being awake, and it's terrible. I want to sleep like that the ENTIRE night.
