Things I got done today....

Replaced one of the plugs for the trailer lights

Got bedding into the RTT, including pillows, and successfully closed it

Installed auxbeam switchbox into the Frontier.

Installed some hold down hooks and added a ratchet strap to hold the 5lb propane tank in the trailer (waiting on my tank bracket to get here).

Things I got done yesterday:

Got the X cleaned out from the last trip (I got home and just left my sleeping gear in the truck)

Repaired the sb50 connector that plugs the solar charger in the trailer to the battery

Tightened all the bolts that held the box to the frame

Added 4 additional bolts to hold the box to the frame

I need to make a bracket to hold the auxbeam box, and two bus bars (and maybe a small 6 fuse fuse panel), but that will happen at a later time.

I mean they could just build it in Smyrna like they’ve always done to get around the chicken tax though. I think they stuck on the fact that the Rogue it’s spot in the lineup and they aren’t motivated to bring it back.

It's our Government there's some huge tariff put on certain types of trucks. They can't compete with the Big 3 once that's added.

Found it 25% tariff on light trucks and 2 row SUV's. Called the Chicken tax LBJ put it in place
It could be domestically assembled to avoid the chicken tax. But they'd have to retool one of the factories and limit production of Altimas that they sell to people with shiatty credit.

I should have held off on sharing that. No real info in that article. But I heard that Nissan brought back the x in Oman.

I mean, I don't hate it. But yeah, stupid chicken tax. I'd love to see them bring back a US spec Xterra built on the new Frontier platform (D41, I think is the designation), but I don't see it happening anytime soon, if at all.

Yup Altimas sell left and right. Can't fault them for making more of what sells.

Honestly time for the chicken tax to go the way of the Dodo bird ( I'm sorry and give myself 4 demerit points for that) but the lobbiest for the Big 3 are too strong
