Trying to eat better constantly and I've been wanting to buy this vegan cook book for a while. Most of the stuff looks awesome in it. It used to be called Thug Kitchen but I guess the recent political climate caused a name change.

Made the tortilla soup tonight for supper. It was pretty damn good. Well be making it again, no doubt.

I'd try ANYTHING on that book's front cover . In fact if you put some Old Bay on the cover I'd chew on that too !! :p

That looks pretty good!

I've picked a few recipes out of this book that I rotate through for lunches/dinner. Most are pretty good and easy to prepare.

I was watching the history channel this morning while their running a Modern Marvel's marathon and probably about every 40 minute's they were running a land rover/range rover/moon rover ? commercial and 2 of them had some overland guru guy talking about stacking up rock's so your not damaging the rocker panel's while going thru rocky terrain:oops: and you should only go as fast as someone walking slowly next to ur vehicle:rolleyes: and everyone had those pretty red traction board's on there sparetire. I'm still laughing because the terrain they were on didn't look bad enough to put Odo into 4wd !! I would probably bet SCREWBALL they were in 4lo with locker's on !! So..........if any of you can prove otherwise show me the proof and then PM your address and $$ for shipping and I'll get that EMPTY bottle of SCREWBALL right out to you  Lol

How many of you keep shackles on your recovery points? I’m in the process of taking everything out of the back and reorganizing all my storage space to thin things out. I don’t want to look like a poseur, but keeping them on means I can use them if I need them on the trail without potentially crawling in the mud to install them first, because I don’t put them on at the trailheads like I probably should.

I keep them on, but only because they're seized at this point.

I just run a soft shackle to them now.

All mine are stored in the truck. I got tired of them rusting in place.

I have soft shackles for my current truck. And a shackle tampon for the rear hitch.

The only one I have on the outside is holding my winch line. It's under a little tension so it'd be tough to steal. Then my other two metal shackles are in my recovery drawer with my two soft shackles.

I have a "Splicer" link a buddy gave me but since I have to run a license plate in VA I can't run it.

I leave mine on . I never had a problem breaking them lose on the boat. Put some anti-seize , tighten them good then run a zip tie thru them like so .20210411_200428.jpg

Didn’t even think about anti-seize. I was going to do the zip tie though since you’re supposed to back it off a half turn from all the way tight. I have some silicone/plastic washers enroute too so they don’t rattle. I might leave them on till winter. Or maybe just leave them on and be diligent about cleaning them.

Thinking more about it today I think I’m going to leave them on for now (front ones). The back one is the tow hitch shackle and that’s not tough to get to. Last time I used the front ones I had to dig them out then get down in the snow to get them on the front.

That's dope. Does he do that professionally? I've made my own for my 1st Gen and I made @JeffPro4x a set for his 2nd Gen.

What kit did he use?

The lights are Morimoto. He opens up the stock lights, paints the chrome installs the projectors then puts them back together.

I antiseize mine as well. With the winch tension on mine, it never backs loose.

As for the backing a shackle off, that's bogus info. A shackle should be finger tight. Having it loose allows it to deform and damage the shackle and can cause them to fail. I've had the industrial rigging training through work and that's something they preach.

I am so not vegan. Check my posts in the cooking threads. But I need to eat better (high cholesterol, hypertension, heart attacks in family, ect) and I like a lot of vegan dishes I've had. But I'll still throw down on the grill with some ribeyes and shrimp when I want. Just trying to improve the in-between times.

I've lost a fair bit of weight since September and it can be a struggle to find healthy things that don't suck. Cutting out anything "bread-like" was important for me and I had to stop eating Jasmine rice which is one of my favorite.

What I do now, frequently, is I'll put some dry rubbed chicken or pork in the Foreman (or crispy salmon on the stove top, salt only) and then I'll use a trick a chef friend taught me. Use a broccoli crown, cut it up in large pieces top to bottom, throw them in a bowl with a teaspoon or so of olive oil and a bunch of chopped garlic, stir and then put it on a baking sheet and roast it at 400 for about 15 minutes. A that point add half an onion cut into round slices (like onion rings) and stirred in the same bowl (shouldn't need any more oil) and a half a pint of mushrooms (also stirred in the bowl) then cook for another 10 minutes or until onion soft, mushroom release moisture and broccoli slightly blackened at the tips. Mix that together with the chicken in a sweet sauce or spicy or a Chinese hot mustard sauce or whatever sauce you like.

Just one idea but I eat this a lot.
