I was watching the history channel this morning while their running a Modern Marvel's marathon and probably about every 40 minute's they were running a land rover/range rover/moon rover ? commercial and 2 of them had some overland guru guy talking about stacking up rock's so your not damaging the rocker panel's while going thru rocky terrain:oops: and you should only go as fast as someone walking slowly next to ur vehicle:rolleyes: and everyone had those pretty red traction board's on there sparetire. I'm still laughing because the terrain they were on didn't look bad enough to put Odo into 4wd !! I would probably bet SCREWBALL they were in 4lo with locker's on !! So..........if any of you can prove otherwise show me the proof and then PM your address and $$ for shipping and I'll get that EMPTY bottle of SCREWBALL right out to you  Lol
Some people just need to avoid reviewing or giving advice... Saw a review for the Xterra when I was looking at one, and the pictures of the field/path where she had tested the off-road capabilities of the Xterra were the type of thing I had frequently driven my Altima across... Granted, I took that Altima to places it really had no business going, but the point still stands that it ain't off-roading if a 2wd car can make it through.

I am so not vegan. Check my posts in the cooking threads. But I need to eat better (high cholesterol, hypertension, heart attacks in family, ect) and I like a lot of vegan dishes I've had. But I'll still throw down on the grill with some ribeyes and shrimp when I want. Just trying to improve the in-between times.

Just a little inspiration for Mr TerryD.

Top shelf: Sockeye salmon, blueberries, raspberries and black berries (the wheatgrass and dog food is for my girlfriend... err for the dog).

Second shelf: Strawberries, corn, almond milk and fat-free milk. The almond milk is a lot freaking better than the non-fat.

Third shelf: Pineapple, "zero" soda and more berries in the back.

Fourth shelf: Cantaloupe and cuties (W. Murcott)

Drawer one: Bagged salad, more mushrooms and broccoli crowns

Drawer two: Citrus my savior. Those Shasta Gold tangerines are quite possibly the best thing I've ever tasted.

A word on the corn. I grew up thinking that corn on the cob was basically a salt and butter delivery device. However if I cook that corn on the grill and blacken it up it tastes so good I don't need the extra stuff. Never would have believed it but it's true... at least for me.

I've been giving a friend a hand at his offroad shop when needed [ mostly the muscle part or taking stuff apart , he's the brain's ] anyway there's a few "overland" people who come in there and I see a pattern with them that bewilder's me . Okay you've invested money in these rig's -roof tent / lift kit / air compressor / fridge / stove / water tank / solar panel's [ I actually mounted a flexable one on a hood ] and then I look inside and low and behold there's 2-3 different communication radio's / 1 or 2 cell phone mount's / 1 or 2 tablet mount's / 1 lap top holder [ apparently the passenger need's there own holder's too ] So why do they need all this electronic $hit to stay in touch with civilization when they've so heavily rigged up to get away from civilization ?? Do you make better decision's day trading when you're in the wood's or are you keeping track of your employee's at you're mustard packet packaging plant making sure their not stuffing their pocket's full of yellow goodness ?? Too each their own !! Maybe it confuses me because I tend to overthink the obvious . Also why do they have have 2-4 light bar's facing forward / double pod ditch light's mounted near the back of the hood / 2-4 light pod's mounted in their front bumper and 1-2 pod's or small bar's pointed out to their side's and 2-4 shinning off the back of their rig's ? Talk about being scared of the dark  I think I should invent the glow in the dark sleeping bag's !! At least it would make it easier for the bear's/mountain lion's to find the human hot dog snack's in the middle of the night !

Sorry for rambling on , if anyone feel's this is better in the " Let it out thread please feel free to move it

Retail therapy man. Some folks just can't stop themselves from buying more stuff. Convincing themselves that they "need' more stuff. You go to their house and it's filled to the rafters with 10 year old newspapers and silly string. Also you have the "look at me" crowd who just don't know when to stop. Still kind of funny though and a boon for any retailer. :)

Honestly the only thing that really matters is to understand that you have separate eating from pleasure. If you can't make that separation the french fries will always win.
I disagree with this, it just takes more effort for the pleasure part. There is a lot you can do with a well-stocked spice cabinet, good quality ingredients, and a decent amount of knowledge on how to cook food well. Sure, it takes more time or effort than just tossing a tv dinner in the microwave, but you don't eat nearly as often since you tend to get all the nutrients you need, and it tastes way better.

Ok so I thought about what you said as Pansy aimlessly wandered the property deciding the perfect spot to do her business. And I've decided that I disagree with you! Ok maybe not but still... going from the following to chicken and vegetables is like going from heroin to baby aspirin. You can try all day long to get the same pleasure out of the baby aspirin but in the end it's still pepperoni vs fake orange flavoring.

Make a lot of that food fresh, a number of times it is the preservatives and flavor enhancers in there that get you, not the actual food itself.

My wife has a buttload (metric or imperial, take your pick) of allergies and food intolerances, and it is noticeable for things like low vs high quality ground beef. If we go for the good stuff from the butcher shop (don't even need to buy organic, most of which is a scam) she is fine, but the cheap stuff at the supermarkets leave her sick for a couple of days because of some of the additives. We make our own pasta sauce straight from tomatoes, using our own blend of spices (we don't buy "Italian", we buy oregano/basil/etc and make our own), and it is way better tasting.

I've made veal parmesan from scratch (and you can do basically the same thing with chicken breasts if you want that instead). Lightly grill up some green beans on the grill instead of using spaghatti if you are avoiding grains.

I could maybe do that once a week. That's quite a bit of work when I could always use my "go-to":

180 calories in only 6 minutes! The cheapest (calorie wise) Lean Cuisine out there and my best friend in the weight loss battle when you are running on 1200 calories a day. In fact I had two this morning already! I have to admit though... your comment made me hungry and lifted my expectations slightly. :)

{snip{ I look inside and low and behold there's 2-3 different communication radio's / 1 or 2 cell phone mount's / 1 or 2 tablet mount's / 1 lap top holder [ apparently the passenger need's there own holder's too ] So why do they need all this electronic $hit to stay in touch with civilization when they've so heavily rigged up to get away from civilization ??
Now you're pickin' on me. Radios are for callin' for help or keepin' in contact with others in your group. Cell phone holders keep your phones handy, and many times you have a nav app running. Same with tablet mount, I have Gaia running on an iPad mini for nav. As for laptop, if you have a BullyDog tuner you can make changes on the fly. It isn't all about keepin' in touch with civilization.

So maybe you don't have all that for what you do, but for some of us it is pretty valuable equipment.

I'm trying not to single out anybody , but I'm probably picking on everybody , a little . I carry an OLD cell phone and have a GRMS radio and that's all I need presently but if you saw the amount of tool's I carry you'd think I wacked myself in the head with the heavy duty 4ft crow bar I carry or the 30" 1/2 inch drive socket bar or the............................ I was trying to convey " why do people take there office into the wood's and try to light it up like there back home in there neighborhood in there house . I counted 17 light's on one OL Ejep and the other one had all the stuff I listed earlier . The owner of that one even had these thin neoprene bootie's that had individual toe's on his feet and grisly Adam's he wasn't . Something's make me laugh , some make me think and wonder why , then walk away and laugh. No offense meant to any one.
