I'm in VA and things are hit and miss. My oldest's BF is white white. Claims our food is "over seasoned."

His mommas signature dish is boiled chicken with canned alfredo sauce on spaghetti noodles.

Asked my daughter if she's sure that's a family she wants to be a part of.....
"White white", lol

I mean, I am too...traced my ancestry back to the 1430's (for real) and it's always been white on white on white, and my entire direct ancestral line never left New England. Most never even left Massachusetts FFS!

Maybe it's the hundreds of years of white food that made me crave flavor and spice on a genetic level, lol

My family was poor white. We had to learn to season and be good cooks so we could stand to eat....

My wife's family is the same way. Salt and pepper are the only seasonings they are aware of. Me on the other hand I'm from Cleveland OH. My Dad's side is German and Irish, my mom's side is Irish and English. My Dad's father passed away and his step father is Polish.

Lots of flavor in my cooking lol
My middle daughter is dating a boy who's Dad's family is from EL Salvador and his grandmother lives with them. He comes over and is like "this is a little bland, pass the hot sauce please. " LOL

She always sends him with some kinda food for us poor Caucasians when he comes to visit. Been on him for some empanadas....
