The steering stabilizer helped a lot!
Been enjoying these hot days with the top off. Still a dream come true.

I have the ability to do that with the Xterra... only 2 deg though... do you think it's worth trying?Bumped the timing 3 degrees across the board
The 2nd Gen Xterra actually checks and learns fuel octane to a certain extent and has functioning knock sensors. If you can tune it, I would look for all the timing tables from the 2005-2012 Pathfinder with the 4.0L.I have the ability to do that with the Xterra... only 2 deg though... do you think it's worth trying?
Ohhh. So they aren't going to put aggressive tunes in those. Check the paperwork and see if they require you to run higher octane fuel with any of the available tunes.Mine is a Bully Dog, you can tune it 3 ways, but timing advance along with wide open throttle are things that can be changed when you install the tune.
Your Rubicon looks way too nice to have all this stuff happening to it! I would love to have one of those but couldn’t mechanic the way you are doing yours. Fun vehicle thoughI don't know what happened to the rear gear set but it's making a lot of noise. I replaced the pinion bearings and reset them. It helped but didn't cure the issue. I've been waiting over a month on a set of Motive 5.13s for it and Northridge4x4 offered a set of Revolution since the Motive are an unknown ETA.
The t-case shifter messed up on me and stuck it in neutral the other day. Dunno how we got it back working but it tried to hang me again Monday driving in this ice. Just ordered a Savvy shift cable conversion for it so hopefully that'll take care of that.
Thanks. It's not as nice as it looks. It was abused and neglected so I'm dealing with those issues. Then there are a lot of poorly designed things from Chrysler that have to be dealt with.Your Rubicon looks way too nice to have all this stuff happening to it! I never knew you had to breakin the differential gears. Guess I haven’t had enough new things in life! Thanks. It's not as nice as it looks. It was abused and neglected so I'm dealing with those issues. Then there are a lot of poorly designed things from Chrysler that have to be dealt with.
I *believe* the gears are noisy because I overheated them on break in. I had a 2 hour drive home and while I attempted to break it up to allow it to cool, it over hardened the faces of the gear teeth.
It's possible a rear output bearing in the t-case is bad as well. But need to make sure the axle is good before I start tearing into anything else.
