IMO, there's nothing wrong with the factory plug.
This is just easier to deal with, with the Shrock skid installed. But honestly I don't think it'd be THAT big a deal with the factory plug.

It was recommended by a couple buddies that run the Shrock skid.

Exactly why I bought mine, buddies recommended with shrock Skid but I didn't fret with factory plug so never bothered install.

It looks like they’re bending near the front attachment point. Do you think it’s from wheeling or something else?
Since it's just in front of the spring, that tells me it's from torque. Which makes me more interested in putting in a anti-wrap bar.

My rear shock mounts are trashed. I've got to decide what to do back there but I've got to save up some money to pay for that solution.....

Lowers? Cause you can buy replacements for like $30 and cut/weld.
Yeah, but with my current shocks I can raise the lower mounts for clearance and added droop because of my Timbren bumps being so long.

But if I get longer shocks, then I'm not sure where my mounts will need to be or if I will be able to move them without hindering travel.

I swapped on the Ironman4x4 shocks I got from Jon.

My Rads are a lot worse off than I thought. LOL.

So these are a little too long. Flexed, the bump stop on the shock and my Timbrens are both in contact. That's OK for articulation but in a full bottom out situation, I'm afraid the shocks mounts are going to take a pretty good hit.

I ordered some new shock mounts to fix my badly mangled ones and eliminate the need for shock skids as well.

When all that arrives I'll play with everything and see what I can manage. I may be going back to my Rads and selling these, but only time will tell.

Were these for Xterra (same as mine) or different? Mine are really close to bottoming out but only when my Timbren are very squeezed.

These were sold as 3-4" lift shocks for an Xterra by ADO before they stopped carrying them. Ironman won't reply to e-mails or answer the phone.

Chad from ADO doesn't remember what the specs were because it's been so long since they carried them.

I've been stewing on this a bit and I think I'm going to put the spacers in my Timbrens for now and see if that will get me through for now safely.

Should be a part number stamped near the lower eye on the opposite side of the Ironman sticker.

Got my SPCs installed today. Took all evening.

I was able to go up from the 1/2" thick spacer to the 1.5" thick spacer and gain around 3/4" of droop. I also dropped my coilovers 3 turns to lower the front down a bit. Gonna drive it a few days then maybe drop it two more turns.

Fully flexed, I'm on both my bump stop and the Radflo bumpstop so I'm going to put the uncut set of bumpstops on tomorrow just to have a little extra pressure on them vs the shock.

I also swapped the circuit breaker on my compressor feed to a maxi-fuse. The under hood heat kept tripping my compressor when @ffxcores , @Newb and I ran Big Levels. Luckily they let me use their air.

Hopefully this will fix that issue.

Prepping for a trip next weekend.

Changed oil, filter and power steering fluid
Rotated tires
Got the t-case and gas tank skid installed
Tweaked the alignment
Installed my fender liners
Added 45° grease fittings to my SPC ball joints so I can grease them without having to jack up the truck

Still need to get my brake hoses tied back so they don't rub the tires when I turn hard.

As usual, zero pics of my X in action, but we did some camping, hiking and wheeling this weekend around Linville Gorge and Hurricane Creek.

Sean and I left Thursday evening after we put my old gas tank and t-case skids on his X. We camped up on Old NC 105 that night and hiked around the falls Friday as much as our knees would allow.

He fixed some chicken teriyaki with one of the discatas we made a few years ago over the fire. That was pretty darn good eating.

My buddies in the F250 and Taco showed up Friday night and camped with us. Matt, the guy in the F250, told his brother in the Taco that he would wheel his farm truck if his brother would wheel his Taco. Underestimating where Matt would take his truck, his brother agreed. He was a little stressed in a couple spots Saturday when we ran Hurricane Creek.

None of us had been there before and there were a few u-turns and more than a little staring at maps trying to figure out where we were and where we were headed.

Saturday we camped at Round Mountain Campground, cooked some steaks and potatoes on the fire and finished off the bottle of Buffalo Trace that showed up.

Anyone know anything about the shifters?

I know the bushing on the end of the cable up front can wear and leave you unable to get into park.

If it wears bad enough the cable end can pop off completely. It’s a rubbery little grommet looking thing.

pull up on the spring clip at the front and the cable and should come out if it’s not attached. I remember some fishing about on the side to disconnect/reconnect.
