Hi Ladies! I thought I would make a thread about the stupid comments guys make when they see our rigs and assume it was a guy's rig or a guy that did all the work. So post up your experiences and/or comments and let's giggle away!

I'll start:

@Jiffy Lube getting windshield repair-
Dude: "You guys paint those steps yourself?"
Me: looks around since he is talking in plural and only I am around...."Um, well, I painted them, yes"
Dude: "ooooo nice."
Me: "Yes. Next step is locking axles when I can afford it"
Dude: jaw hits floor and doesn't say a thing

+2 for MEL, 0 for dumb dudes

Hahha... I was on a trail a weekend ago and a group of guys from a Frontier Club were offroading... I was looking at the trail and hiking up past all of them and they didn't really repsond to me so I wondered up the trail... My Boyfriend went to get my X at the bottom of the hill and he drove up parked it and walked up to me and the Frontier guys said oh hey Man you got an Offroad Xterra, and my boyfriend was said nope its hers... and they just looked at me........ They seemed nice but didn't think to even ask me .... so goes the story of being an offroad girl :)

I get comments constantly about my X. Over the weekend at Rooks Run at Rausch we pulled over to let a group of heeps by and this one dude I over heard him say " dude theres a chick wheelin that pink and black rig, I wonder if her boyfriend in the passenger seat feels like he got his balls chopped off?!" I couldnt help be to lmao at that one.

Most comments come from auto parts stores...
"who works on your truck?"
"you know how to drive that thing?"

you can get the jist of them... because im sure yall get em too!

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. I have a sticker on my rear window that says "Boobies make me smile". It is fun to watch people in my rearview mirror read the sticker then pass me and go agape when they see a female driving. :p

I haven't run into that scenario yet, usually its men thinking I'M a man hahaha. I may have short hair, but come on guys. Just cuz I don't have "curves"...
I do enjoy the awkward reactions I get when they realize though... "Oh, uuhhhh......sorry?", "I mean MA'AM!!", "Oh, thought you were a dude, sorry"...

This is what it looks like

Think I got it at cafepress.com

And I know what you mean- I shaved my head last month and donated my hair. Now I truly do look like a dude...boobs and curves aside since I don't wear tighter clothes, haha. Love it when people get awkward around me. :p

I'm gonna have to get it lol. And those people just make it awkward for themselves, I could care less, but they just stand there in their own humiliation and its hilarious.

My HRC sticker used to get a lot of comments...

"What's that yellow and blue sticker mean?"

I, too, get called sir on a daily basis...I also wear a uniform with a badge on a daily basis, too. With a hat. And short hair.

I floored the guy at O'Reilly the other night looking for paint...I had to school him on Ranchos and XTerras...and firefighters that are chicks...etc.

Hahaha awesome! Yeah I wear a uniform and a badge at work, too. And often get called Sir. Doesn't help that my business cards say MEL, too, bwhahaha! I like to keep people guessing. My HRC sticker wore off on the rear plastic bumper (I could never get a sticker to stick there, grrrr). Most people out here have no idea what the symbol means, or HRC for that matter. I am debating the thin rainbow sticker for the bumper....but then it would not match my paint scheme, and, yes, that would bother me. :p

I am making my first appearance at a local 4x4 club even tomorrow. I'm pretty stoked about it and will let you all know the stupid comments I get from dudes afterward. :p

Haha these comments are great.

I get the typical ones like:
"Is that yours..??"
"Did you do all this?"

And from work, from employees that first see me get out of the X:
"You drive that truck out there? I just did NOT expect that because you are a tiny little girl and you hopped out of that big truck!"
haha ..thanks?

I used to have really short hair and I didn't get the comments as much, weird >.>

I guess I come from the other side of the spectrum. Long hair instead of short.

Oh well.... the comments keep coming too. Like how BOYS try to school me on what I can and CANNOT do to my X.
Oh here's the best one. When I first bought my X, the guy I was dating at the time had a lifted tacoma with a solid axle swap and a custom lift beyond that and he tried to tell me that the truck wouldn't run correctly if I got a lift and that the ride would suck, and how I'd end up breaking something or wrecking. Boy did I teach him a lesson after I recovered his truck at the OHV park when he tore the rear axle out from under it. ROFL! Best offroading day ever!

hahaha that's awesome.

Thankfully my boyfriend supports my rig, but he still wouldn't let me tow his Jeep out of the offroad park after he blew a hub and half axle. He told me, "I refuse to let your Nissan recover me." Pfft >.>

When I first got the X, my brothers and friends laughed at me when I started painting everything black (wheels, bumpers, etc). After I was done and they saw how it looked they came around and told me they actually liked it. Thanks for the faith jerks. ^_^

Thanks =] He had made some dumb cylinder and plate things to replace his u-bolts.... but his welds weren't strong enough so they broke under pressure. I did my best not to laugh once we figured out what broke. Spent the rest of the day packing all his stuff from his truck into my X and driving it the rest of the way out of the park (mind you were were already half-way in, at the top of the mountain, with my back end loaded down with everything, +2 passengers AND best part of all.... The X was still stock at the time.) I'll try to find the pictures later & post them so we can all laugh...

I came out of the WaWa gas station near my office and found that the work truck next to me loaded with workers was empty. They were all standing out front of WaWa gawking at my truck. As I walk up and see one fella brushing mud off my tire. (quite muddy, wheeled on my lunch break the day before and had to recover my jeep coworker) So I walk up to get into my truck and ask him "Did you get all the mud off?" He asked me what size my tires were. I told him 33 mt's. He decided to fight with me because he swore they were 34's. "Who in their right mind would by 34's?" which of course starts a bickering from the other fellas standing a few feet away. Finally after going back and forth about the tire size and him tell me that I'm wrong. I finally looked at him and was like "Yeah WTF do I know. It's only my truck. That I wrench on and That I drive. But hey You sir Joe Schmoe apparently know more about it than I do. Now excuse me I have to get to work"

I then proceeded to get into my truck and back out of the spot.... he just so happen to leave his coffee near my front driver tire... which.. i ran over. I claim Victory on my behalf on that one lol.

^Ahahaha! That's an awesome story.

Apparently I scare some of the dudes over on TNX. I got secondhand word of this while they were discussing me at Rausch this weekend. I am now on a mission to find out which dude finds me scary and make him more scared of me, bwahahaha!

I found out who! Funny part (to me) is that I dont think I have ever interacted with him on the forum. Weird. Stange pansy-like man is fearful of assertive women I guess...

Haha. I didn't hear any word of this while there this weekend. I did however hear freaking Riehle screaming at the top of his lungs "BLLLAAAAAIIINNN" all night Saturday. People seriously thought that someone was getting skinned alive.

HAhaha yeah I heard it was a bit crazy. Jason told me he was talking to some of the guys and mentioned me coming out in March and wanting to do a trail run. And apparently one of the guys (who will remain unnamed...for now) said he thought I was scary. He told me you are awesome and really got along with you, haha. :)

With that being said, we should totally go wheeling when I come out to visit!
