Spots near Virginia Beach?

I'm new to the website and new to the Xterra movement! I'm definitely interested to take my new 2015 Xterra out. Any good trails or parks near the area? Possibly in North Carolina? Thanks in advance!

First, welcome to XN! And a local to me! That's almost unheard of.

The closest we have for wheeling here is the beach in NC. Preferably Carova Beach (go to NC12 in the outer Banks and turn left on to NC12 North. Keep driving until the pavement runs out.

Aside from that, you need to drive 3+ hours to Harrisonburg and the George Washington National Forest. There really is nothing in between.

Except for this weekend. Starr Motors in Suffolk is having their annual off road day this Saturday. It's a Heep dealer out on 460 that has a small off road park on their property. This Saturday it's open to the public. Any make. Though it is predominantly Heeps, I like to let them know our presence. It's cost $15 paid on site. Well worth a Saturday afternoon.

I'm the Hampton Roads officer for the Virginia Xterra Club. So if you need anything, just holler.
