I have the OEM Rockford system. Replace HU with Kenwood DDX371. Need to replace rear speakers.
What I know:
OEM HU is 2ohm
Kenwood is 4ohm
Rear door speakers are stamped with 2ohm

What I don't know:
Am I looking for 2 or 4 ohm speakers?
Where does the amp figure into this?

HALP!

Since we've already spoken, I'll share with the class.

If you are using the stock Rockford Fosgate amplifier to power the speakers, you should stick to 2-ohm speakers. If you bypassed the RF amp and brought your speaker wires to the head unit directly, then you can use 8-ohm speakers.

Also, I didn't think to ask. Does yours have the separate tweeter in the rear doors? Component set, if you will? Because that changes the game a bit. If memory serves the front speakers have an outboard crossover for the woofer/tweeter, but the rear door speakers each one is home run to the amp. So you have two wires for the woofer and two for the tweeter at the amplifier location.

So if you buy a component set you likely will not use the crossover that comes with the speakers. Unless you want those off of the RF amp and you get the wires up to the head unit. Which. Again. Changes your ohm load options.

Then you're going to have a bad time. Unless you're replacing it with a woofer only. If you're putting a 2-way speaker in then no HF will make it to the tweeter in your new speaker.

Ha! I have the same HU! I like it except that you can't see the monitor when the glare of the sun is on it.
I run it with a back up camera, "Infinity Reference" speakers (front, back and tweeters) and an old style "Infinity Basslink". I ran the mic to the top of steering column so I can use my iPhone through it.
Works great except for the glare.

The glare is awful.
