Let's all go ahead and get the laughing out the way, yes it is orange. Bright freakin orange. I also call it the road flare on wheels. Anyway, here it is:

2003 Xterra

Just finished the body lift yesterday with the help of my neighbor. If it wasn't for him I'd probably still be out there trying to get started. Unfortunately I didn't think to take any before pics. Got the CB installed today, just a cheap Midland with a 3 foot Firestik antenna. I don't remember what the wheels are, I just know that they are far from the correct backspacing which is what prompted the body lift. Tires are 265/75/16 Cooper Discoverers.

Sorry for the cell phone pics, couldn't find the camera.

And that's about it. Future plans include a bumper from RLC and probably a light bar. When its time for new tires I'll probably do a PML and get some 33s.

Dude no one is going to laugh at Atomic Orange. Most anyone on here would love to have that color. That being said, you need some decals to butch up your rear windshield now lol.

Really though, your rig looks great with the body lift. It'll look even better with the RLC. I also hear light bars are on sale for first gens on wednesday the 4th from B&M light bars...

Yeah, I really like the fact that there isn't another orange one in town, but I don't dare let my wife know I don't hate it lol. And, funds permitting, I plan on taking advantage of the B&M deal but its gonna be awhile before I can afford to buy the lights. I'm kind of pissed that this thing is now taller than my XJ that's got 6 inches of lift though.

Out of curiosity when you did the body lift did you let the radiator float up with the body or did you leave it in it's original location relative to the engine?

Removed lower fan shroud, let the radiator go up with the body. There didn't seem to be too much tension on the hoses yesterday but I'm sure that's the cause.

It's only a minor upcharge. Call up 1800radiator (that's their number) and tell 'em what you need. It was $161 with local pickup for mine.

I'm gonna see if the local radiator shop can do anything with this one, otherwise I'll definitely upgrade.

Haha, it doesn't take much to beat a XJ out on lift, My buddies has like 6" on 33's and it almost seems as if it sits even with my X, provided he has more clearance though. The rig looks sick though, the orange is a headturner all on it's own man. Now that you lifted up and are tacking on the add on's people are gonna crap envy all over. :D

RockAuto has them for $100...less if you have an automatic trans.

That is good news.

I've ordered a bit from them, but you do get what you ask for. Meaning: If you order the cheapest available part, expect it to be the cheapest. I've done my shocks, one tail light assy, headlight assy (Lancer), vacuum solenoid (Camry), accessory belts, radiator hoses, A/C Compressor, and accumulator. I also have a set of ball joints I'm waiting for time to get installed. I was going to do my timing belt and water pump from them as well, but ran into other problems and wound up returning with no issue. The only problem I've had was with the accumulator; it was a bit too small in girth, so it didn't fit the stock mount properly, and (likely because of the fit) I wound up stripping out the pressure hose bolt holes.

Do your research as to if the brand they have access to is reputable, and double check that the part is what you really need once it shows (not one for a different model). I have a couple of carts saved there for pending maintenance items (200K, front end, etc) and I will occasionally compare their selection to that of AutoZone, O'Reilly and NAPA to see how good the deals are.

I just installed the cheapest SC radiator. You can use the auto version, the transmission cooler nipples do not have to be used (I use a remote trans cooler on mine anyway). I ordered VARIOUS MFR Part # NI3010109 for about $80 last week and installed it..... WAYYYY better than that pos they give us stock

Pretty sure that's the one I ordered.

Don't bother doing anything with the old one, even if it's free. The stock radiator is shiate, woefully inadequate. Check rock auto and the like, you can get the SC radiator for cheap-ish

(edit - nevermind I see this has been addressed)

There is no reason for anybody to laugh at such a great color X. I see one driving around my town and I am envious!!!! And after all, at the end of the day as long as you, the owner of the vehicle, is happy with it, then so be it.......

I just finished putting the new radiator in. I'm grateful for the suggestions on upgrading to the S/C radiator, this thing looks like it'll be way better than the stock one. I have to work all weekend so I'll probably tackle the spark plugs next week.

Well my wife wrecked Punkin a few days ago. Fortunately its fixable and my buddy volunteered to help me fix it, so the wrecker is bringing it to my house right now. I'll post some pics when it gets here.

Depending on how much damage there is to the front suspension and steering components, I might end up installing the AC lift kit and stepping up to 33s. I already know at least 2 of the brand new tires are trashed, maybe 3, and 1 wheel. And if funds allow, I plan on finally getting an RLC bumper. So at least some good may come from this mess.
