They have allowed me to participate in the FB group even though I'm not a member (I work weekends). I"ll hang out here as well.

It's a seriously good group to be a part of. I wish I had more time to do the group activities tho.

I will say that not having bookface is pretty detrimental tho. Because it seems like there is a lot that happens there I miss out on.

I'm in the paid members Google group but only 2 or 3 people pay attention to it.

Exactly! I'm not either. Which is why I want to make this a thing!

I actually created a fake account and was added back to the members facebook page - the event invites via google weren't being updated when things were cancelled or rescheduled (such as Red Cone being rescheduled from this sunday to 9/1), so I rejoined just to access the events again.

I can't remember why I didn't or couldn't join before, probably requirements.

The only requirements I know of (or pay attention to) are the annual dues and trail work days, and maybe having a CB for trail runs.

I know the bylaws mention having to attend at least 2 meetings and 2 work days - but I wasn't able to attend any work days last year due to conflicts, and missed a few meetings as well. It's not strictly enforced, they just want you to try to be active. And the trail work/maintenance hours are flexible - say, if you went camping or wheeling one weekend, and spent an hour picking up trash and then report it, that counts. The reporting the hours is the important thing, as our contacts within the forest service use it to prove that offroaders/4wheelers are making a difference and it helps in arguments against closing trails.

Hmm, that's doable. I seem to remember wanting to make a meeting and ended up having to work both times they met up back in '18..
