My daughter has a mini-jeep...she turned a corner, flipped it on hi, punched it and parked it like I would have ;)

I don't know man, I think I'd rock the hell out of something like that. I'd have to make some changes though.

My brother in law and I were talking about it and said that it could be done so much better than that. This was some gypsy thing he'd found digging around for something else. I think if you were to put something like this on top of a titan and tie in the coloring as well as add a ladder, and not have the pop up open in the middle of town it would look much better.

Agreed. I'd probably use a smaller pop up as well, one with only one slide-out bunk. If doing that, I'd also push the pop up a little bit further towards the rear of the truck, to help even out the weight a little bit. Seems a little heavy on the front end.

I just got lost on the internet and ended up watching this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAMHs73WBxs

Yes, that was hard to watch, but I don't think anyone in the Xterra family would be so hard on a newbie.

Edit: This was not to bash on a Jeep, but more the lack of support by the folks he wheeled with.

That was hard to watch for many reasons. All someone had to do was walk up to his window without everyone yelling. And give the guy a pep talk and explain how to do it. Most of us have been there with a new vehicle to us at least and not wanting to damage it but not realizing what the vehicle can take.

Agreed. I've never wheeled before owning my X, and I'll be the first to admit that I've only gone on ONE group wheeling trip to an actual wheeling location, and the crowd I went with (NEXterra) couldn't have been more accommodating on the trails. Everybody was willing to help, offer friendly advise, and spot for the other drivers.

I feel bad for the driver of this Liberty, he's got to find a new group to wheel with, he's obviously in with the wrong crowd - those guys obviously don't know how to lend a helping hand to an inexperienced driver and ought to be ashamed.

I hope that guy doesn't think the entire off-road community is like that. I wonder how many potential people those guys have turned away from ever wanting to get back in the dirt again?

exactly, I thought the same thing as you xterraforce. I feel like I would be turned away from ever going wheeling again if I was treated like that. it especially bothers me that they had to make a video mocking not only his jeep, but him as well.

Um....and we don't pour all of our spare funds into our rigs?

I think the implication is that poring money into a Jeep is a waste. Whereas in our cases it isn't.

I don't agree with the notion, I think a Heep can be built into a very impressive and capable rig. But I also think there's 50,000 more out there just like it. And that's just boring.

Jeep parts are plentiful. Nissan... Not as much.

But... IMHO I have a more capable vehicle than a Jeep.

I agree. Back when my only upgrade was tires I waited on a trail while a mildly lifted TJ tried three times climbing some ledges. He gave up and I tried it, not expecting to make it. The Xterra went right up.

Veryyy late response to this. No, I don't pour all my money because my front brakes aren't locking up every other weekend ripping the front end apart going down the road like some of my friends J**ps are. Nor are my axle shafts being obliterated on mild inclines. I put money into my rig, but I don't need to waste 3x more repairing things that shouldn't need to be fixed every 2 weeks =P. Buying a fuel filter, plugs and wires was the most I've spent on maintaining my rig thus far since purchasing it. Otherwise, change the oil and put gas in it, and it's drove through/up/over anything I've rolled up to. In conclusion, I may not have the solid axle up front, but I sure <3 my Xterra and what it gives back to me in reliability and a fun driving experience.

A manager from one of our stores sent me this picture and asked when I was going to do this to my Xterra. My first thought was NOOOOOOOOO! My second was wait, this isn't an Xterra. To me this looks like a Pathfinder with gen 1 front bumper, get 1.5 grill and hood, and gen 2 fender bulges. He found it somewhere on Facebook so I don't know if it's real or a Photoshop job but whatever it is, I bet (hope) it's the only one like it.
