I thought about this one for a bit and did some head scratching before posting. Environment: Truck will sway side to side ( like if someone is jumping/rocking the truck on the side steps) any speed after 45mph on the freeway. Will sway like blow shocks or feels like a huge Cadillac. current status: shocks were replaced 2 weeks ago with Monroe-Matic plus shocks (standard height). ball joints and control arms bushings were replaced a week prior of shocks. No front nor rear sway bar (bought truck with both damaged). Tire rotated 2 weeks ago. Rear suspension is fine ( leaf pack in great shape with no broken leafs) No spacers on wheels. Before I replaced shocks, the side to side sway didnt occur. Alignment is within specs (was checked yesterday at American Tire depot). Torsion bars were adjusted back to factory level/height. Now, I understand without sway bars this can occur, BUT the sway can't be felt on steering wheel (body roll) but I can let go of the steering wheel briefly at highway speed and wont change its course of direction. side to side will still occur. Could this be a case of bad shocks or am I missing something.
