My 6.8 and 5.56. Waiting on a barrel for my 5.56 but had to mock it up with my new Keymod rail from parallax tactical. Barrel should be in tomorrow!

Looks good. You planning on painting the stock and grip too?

Probably, I'm getting a SOPMOD stock for it because the cheek weld is phenomenal so i may paint that when it shows up. The grip is the MOE+ rubberized grip so I don't think the paint would adhere to it very well or last very long.

I used rustoleum camp khaki as a base with a few coats, then i took their dark earth camo with some brissels (is that what their called?) that I cut off of my broom. Light sweeps of the dark earth and that was it! The scope is a Leupold vx-I 1-4x that is $199. It's a "shotgun" scope so I figured it could handle the abuse of getting thrown around in barrels for 3 gun. It's an awesome scope especially for the money! I can easily hit 8" steel gongs from 300-400 yds with it.

I have one of the "Mark" whatever, 1.5-4 magnification... As you can tell I'm not big on technical terms.... But what are you using for lens covers? I need some and mine did come with any. Most all of my other glass had something but not this one.

I've got butler creek flip up covers. They're pretty cheap and work great. If you aren't sure what sizes you need some where like SWFA.com or cabelas usually has a guide to what you need to fit a particular scope.

earmuffs? also, your "spotter/observer" needs some PT....(just like me)

Electronic noise cancelling ones, that's friends dad. He has a buddy who is a gunsmith so we went over to his place. Got a chance to boresight my .243 and put some lead downrange.

Sent from my mansion in Grouchland.

My gen 4 Glock 19 is my only pistol, but I've got my brothers Walther PPQ in my possession currently due to him moving temporarily to MA.

I've also got a Mosin Nagant that I haven't shot in over a year, a Remington 1100 that is used for skeet/trap/sporting clays (haven't been as much as I normally like this year) and a German drilling from the mid to late 1800s that's been in the family since it was made. That hasn't been shot for years and it needs a proper going over by a skilled gunsmith. I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe it is a 16 gauge SxS with an awkward caliber rifle tucked underneath. I haven't looked at it in years as it sits in the back of the safe. I'll have to look at getting it fixed up so I can shoot a few light load shells through it.

Always got taught to measure my groupings center to center, because it may not be the same...

And center of hole = point of impact, very important when determining deviation from point of aim.

I have a target precision program for all that. It was just set up like that for a photo.

Ok fellow XN gun nuts...convince me to give a 1911 a chance...found a double stack para 1911 in .45 that holds 14+1 that was pretty comfortable...

Why not? That's the real question!

Finally completely finished

Looks good!

I just recently bought a savage 10-TR. My understanding is that it was supposed to be LE only to provide a very accurate rifle at a great price. Some civilians have been getting ahold of them so savage discontinued it. I managed to snag one for $499.
-20" threaded bull barrel with 5R rifling (will be perfect for my suppressor when I finally get to take possession of it!)
- savage accustock (aluminum bedded stock)
- savage accutrigger
- oversized bolt knob
- factory installed rail

I took a 6.5-20x50 off my .204 for now. Someday when I get then money I'll buy a vortex pst for it. It will do for now though. I just wanted something cheaper to shoot than my 270 WSM because I'm going to get in to some long range shooting. Eventually I'll rebarrel to .260 or 6.5 creedmoor but for the next couple years .308 will do the trick just fine.

Why not? That's the real question!

Easy, 1911's and I don't generally agree because of the slide-trigger vs every other gun in existence using a hinge trigger.

It's hard to convince myself to drop $800-1000 on a gun I may not like, when that same funds could be put toward bumpers and my fuel-cell mod...

You're gonna enjoy .308, and, for cost of shooting, if you're out to 1km, I wouldn't change caliber at all.

Yeah I'm pretty excited. 1k will be max for a few years so changing caliber won't be for quite some time. I haven't owned a 308 but I'm excited to do some reloading for it. It will use about 20 grains less powder than my WSM and components are more available and cheaper. I have read 168gr and 175gr are good shooters so those will be my first test rounds. I think I may go with 175s for reaching out to 1k though.

I'm running Barnes tipped TSX 168gr with varget loaded HOT, we had em loaded up to 3100fps @ 12" on a 20" barrel, but, we had an internal crack in the lapua brass, not all the way through, thankfully, but, we backed down to 2875-2900fps and no fatigue in the brass now, so we're happy there and the round stays supersonic to just past 1100m. The big advantage there is that round is vicious when it hits at that range, so, even though it's down to 491ft/lbs of energy, it's still gonna shred what it hits...

I've got about 3/4 lb of varget to play with. Not sure where it came from but it's in my reloading stash haha. I'll have to give the Barnes a shot. I know they are a devastating round in my 6.8

Went out and shot my 10-TR yesterday. I didn't have any brass prepped for loading so I bought some Hornady Match 168gr BTHP to shoot. Was tinkering trying to get it sighted in exactly where I wanted and had 8 rounds left when I was done with that so shot an 8 round group at 100 yds. Not too shabby for a rifle with less than 50 rounds down the pipe.

e3aqy2u4.jpg

Will be loading some of the 168 match BTHP later in front of some varget and hope to hit the range tomorrow to see how they shoot. I need to get a chronograph.
