looking for lift shackles. i live in the okanagan and called anything within 5 hours away but still north of the border. nothing. nobody has anything or is even willing to order from calmini due to their lousy wait times. has anyone had any experience with canadian shops that might carry them or else have experience with international shipping? i dont want to end up paying 250 for 65$ shackles. any advice/links/experience is appreciated.

I'm not aware of any shops in Canada that carry the parts you need. I've ordered a few things from 4x4parts.com in the past but they have high shipping rates so I try to avoid buying things there (shouldn't be all that bad for just shackles). If you call or email them you may get a bit better price for shipping.

I ordered my suspension parts from Nisstec and had them shipped to the border and drove down to pick up the pieces. the way I look at it is if the shipping costs more then 2 tanks of gas, then it's worth me taking a day off to go pick it up

just got my parts. shackles and idler arm brace had 32$ shipping from 4x4parts and 21$ brokerage crap from ups. took about a week. was happy with the price, since driving down to pick stuff up would have been more than $50 for gas. only hiccup was UPS had their heads up their bums for a bit, but it got worked out eventually. just an update for any other cannucks wondering about stuff. i'd do it again for stuff i can't find easily in canada. for big stuff like skid plates (which i will also have to order from there since canada doenst have any) it might get pricy for bigger stuff.

I can't see my previous orders now that they have a new website, but I paid over $400 for my 4 bilstein shocks which were around $66US ea. Now, it was in 2 separate orders which made it more money, but shipping was pretty high.

As for skid plates, I had ordered mine directly from shrockworks since you can pay half up front & the other half once they are done.
I got 3/4 skids (no gas tank skid)

$115
$259
$183
-$55 with discount code
+$214 Shipping
=716USD

Since it was being delivered on a truck they 3rd partied it to a trucking company, so once the skids got here I had to go pick them up at that companies warehouse and they charged me $75 for shipping, on top of the $215 I already paid UPS.

Anyways, after all the BS fees and conversion, that $716USD turned into $900CAN. It was pretty brutal so definitely go pick them up at the boarder yourself lol.

shocks seem like something that should be easy to get in canada. most local places should be able to order directly from bilstein or rancho or whatever. its messed up when shipping costs more than the product. maybe time for a road trip to florida to pick up skidplates directly from 4x4parts. a week of gas and camping would be cheaper than shipping. or look more into getting stuff shipped to washington state. it's only 2 hours away.

when I ordered my rear suspension parts, Shocks, full leaf springs, shackles from Nisstec, I had everything shipped to North Dakota ( 2 hours south of were I live) and drove down to everything up. at the border crossing, all I had to prove was where the items originally was manufactured ( Australia, and Germany) and they only charged me PST or somehting stupid like that
