Hi everyone, just joined yesterday and looking to learn and share with everyone.
Just bought (a great deal I believe!) a 2011 Pro 4x 6 spd manual with 102,000 miles here in Virginia.
I got the Xterra bug when I bought from my son a 2006 automatic X with 166,000 a year ago. He was trading for a bigger SUV for the family (2 kids now) and when he told me the dealer was only giving him $2,000 for it I said heck I'll buy it and use it for the winter months....well I soon fell in love and when I sold my BMW M5 I found that the X was just awesome for my daily drive and all the weekend stuff we do as well. A hell of a lot cheaper than the V10 M5 as well obviously !!
I did a bunch of work on it myself (so easy to work on) and had plans to take it thru the 200k mark, but while constantly looking on the online markets I came accross my new baby Pro 4x 2011 manual and for $8,500 I'm now pleased as punch to own it and starting my journey of fixing a few things and getting it back to as close to perfection as I can !
I'm also glad to say the 2006 is going to stay in the family with my daughter in laws niece who will hopefully take it thru the 200k...and I'll still get to help her with maintenance etc.
I know I will have a few questions, perhaps one at this point. What's the best way to stop the seeping rust lines that come from under the rear bumper vinyl trunk cover ? Moisture just gets trapped under it over the years and eventually the center section of the rear bumper just bubbles and streams rust as a result.
That's it for now. ..thanks everyone and have a safe and happy memorial weekend !

...and by the way yes SCTSMN means I am from Scotland, yes I am cheap, drink scotch, and always love a good deal !!!

Here's the new and the old.... Xterras Front.JPG xterras rear.JPG
