Anyone heard of any problems with the savage rascal? I put a scope on it my daughter's and we were out zeroing it and ran into a problem; every once in awhile when we closed the bolt it would fire without touching the trigger.

If I am not mistaken, the Rascal has the accu trigger. If so, has it been adjusted AT ALL?

It has a few hundred rounds through it and today was the first time it has done that. After the second time I locked it up. Took it home clean it and put it away.

If it has been made too light it is possible. Has it been cleaned? Sometimes the factory coatings can dislodge and affect the seat engagement. Also check to make sure the safety is free of debris.

I clean it every time we get home from shooting. I don't have a scale to measure the trigger pull I'm guessing its set about 2#. Really I wish my rem. 597 had a trigger pull like that. I will most likely call savage on monday. I had it apart tonight and I could not see anything out of the ordinary. The only thing that caught my attention was wear marks on the bolt from it being cycled.
