I just bought David Boyd’s Calmini SAS’d Xterra (Nissan Nation Podcast/WENT Windrock event). The poor thing has sat under a tree for the last 2 years. I’m going to resurrect her
it’s a 2000 Xterra with a used Calmini SAS kit installed. Waggy Dana44 front axle with an OX locker and 5.13 gears
Front drive shaft is a shortened Ram 1500 unit with a Rugged Rocks t-case adapter.
Front suspension is Fox air shocks. I have no experience with these so after I wheel it a bit I’ll make the decision to keep them or swap to coilovers.
Rear suspension is a bastard leaf pack and lift shackles for now. Will likely get an Alcan leaf pack at some point.
Tires are 35” Goodyear Wrangler MTR.
Im doing a bunch of maintenance now to get her ready to drive. The front pinion is seized in the housing so I’m having a local shop go through the entire axle.
The Calmini tie rod and drag link and all the end links are shot and are being replaced with Wide Open Design aluminum 1.5” bars and QA1 Chromoly end links.
I’ve also been massaging the front Hannemann 4” wider fenders to fit the body better.
