Hidden Falls is probably going to be your best bet. From what I've heard about Cline, minimum 6 rigs to open the gates, and in the fall they shut down for hunting season, others also say Hidden Falls has more trail options and is better maintained.

RoninJiro and Metzican and some others have been to Hidden Falls. You could ask their opinions. If I recall, it's a little north or northwest of Austin, so it may be a little out of the way from San Antonio. An hour or so to drive there, I would think.

I say we put a trip together in late Sept or Early Oct? Hidden Falls has my vote and we can camp over Friday & Saturday if wanted. I have a few Jeep friends that would probably want to ride along with. I'd be coming down from DFW area.

I know Ronin been there. I've actually never been there, I went to the one outside of DFW area. Forget the name and don't feel like looking it up. I would be down depending on when everyone is going and first priority is trying to make it to NXM.

My bad, Derrick, I thought you had wheeled HF. I'd like to go up that way, but if I take any trip this year it will be NXM, and that's probably not gonna happen, what with the new work schedule and all.

Gents, I have been to Hidden Falls numerous times, both with my old XJ, Bronco and more so with my X. I know the trails and can even guide if needed. I usually go out there with my friend with an XJ..

There are some good 1-2 for stockers and even some 3-4 that are a little under rated. But be careful because there are a lot of 3-4 that are over rated. I have a PML and 32" Duratracs that I do mostly 2-4.

The camping there is top notch and you can wheel up till midnight. Fire bans are non-existent and you are close to good water features for those hot days.

I have a good hook-up there that I can get good rates for groups and I have the map for the CustomMaps Application for Android.. it uses GMaps GPS to lay your location onto Hidden Falls Park map... Comes very handy and is a PITA to setup. It took me about an hour.

Clines is good but like it was stated takes 6 or 10 rigs for them to open the gates. Which is weak.. I would rather just drive the 30 minutes more to HFP..

Also there is one that I have not been to yet about the same distance as HF. Its called: Longs Ranch

There is also trees Ranch

I will definitely take you up on that. What a great offer. And I can do the same for Bridgeport OHV Park up here in DFW land.
Thanks
