Nice job on the VA wedding. We have a variety of environments given the range from mountains to beach. I am not sure I have heard of where you were but sounds amazing. Sterling is in Northern VA outside of DC. So a little over 500 miles. Which takes about 8 hours down interstate 81. I started up a "NOVA Convoy" thread to see if anyone from where I am to event wanted to jump in line. Looks like we may have some last minute stragglers or drop outs. Seems to always be the case when planning a trip. Last year I toted my glorious off road camper. Man it was beast in the mountains, weighing in at about 4300 lbs. I under estimated the gas budget. Took me 7 tanks to get there and 4 on the way home. Didn't really need the camper at the time for the event, but had just picked it up and told myself this is why you bought it, for trips like this. After that trip, i told myself this why you are going to sell it because of distances like this...haha. All end goal for the rig is to have a jumping jack trailer with a UTV on top for camping excursions.

Haha yeah, we are usually booked toward the Johnson City, TN to lower part of VA the most so we do frequent VA often. From Wise to Abingdon to Tunnel State Park to name a couple. Not bad though but the drive does suck sometimes.

Can't imagine towing a camper long distance....and the gas also too. I tow sometimes for work hauling equipment and its a b*tch on gas but luckily I get mileage reimbursement though so I can't complain.

I had originally planned on getting a military trailer to fix it up and make it a small camper/supply out of it but that's a long time down the road though.

On the original topic, I like them. Personally I'd keep them low like you have them. I didn't like the higher mounted ones from the one on TNX as much. If you notice, on 18 wheelers the lights are usually at cab level, not at the top of the faring. Not that it means that's how it should be. I just prefer them that way.

Thanks and I am starting to feel the same way. I have seen your build thread in the past, great job on everything. i was admiring those rims for a long time but found out they will not fit the 2nd gens. to bad, they do set off that aggressive look on the street and off.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and comments. I believe I have found what I don't personally like about the setup and the solution to make it right. The product is called a Pacer performance HI-5 cab lights from Summit Racing. The product number I am showing is 20-265. They show the products in an amber reflection during the day. I have ordered the smoked version 20-265S. Same exact light except shows a smoked version during the day, but still emits amber led light at night. IMO this may help make it look like three unique pods up there during the day and at night its undeniably awesome to see the 5 square leds up there. My plan is to get new lights tomorrow by mail then put new hardware in old box with old lights to send back for full refund. However, If anyone is interested in the 20-265 lights, happy to bring them with me to event to sell. Since I can get a full refund and total purchase price was 110. i will be willing to let them go for 100. Otherwise will ship them back just before I leave for event next week.

Finally arrived and finally installed. I think they look 20x's better being smoked. They have the same intensity brightness at night, but look much better being a smoked lens during the day. Since they are not designed to have them and they are smoked and unless you knew what they were, it would raise an interesting eyebrow.

Aye yay yay, how embarrassing. Appreciate the sense of humor. Its a shame when you get older and you find yourself taking medicine to fall asleep at night. Found myself months ago getting very little sleep at night. Spoke to doctor and appeared my mind just rants and raves all night. I could literally be exhausted physically but stay up all night and work on a 1000 piece puzzle a the same time. From now on I have to remember to put the lap top and phones away when I take this medicine. At some point I blackout as intended I suppose, but there is a brief auto pilot mode in there before passing out. If I don't wake up in my bed, I have to look around next morning or figure out how I got there. One time I found I made $400 worth of random items on Amazon. I mean real random, like everything that came across my page was added to cart and purchased. Next morning had to cancel all items. Not sure if you can relate. My apologies for those last two messages.
