Just curious, have you come up with a price of all the steering components you will need to peice it together like you are talking about?

Well seeing how nothing is set in stone yet (ordered) I am not sure, but I want to keep it as low as possible without getting cheap crappie stuff.

I would like to say under 400 would be my goal

Well, project Sticker Bomb is done, looks like this

Plans on going to talk to a shop on Monday to talk about a lift. (the only way right now that my parents will let me lift my x, is to have a shop do it, or have the shop tell them that it wouldn't be worth the price I paid them, and I could do it myself.)

Just looking at the BL and PML right now, money is flowing in, but having a hard time thinking that I will invest 1300$ into parts as a college kid. (Reality has kicked in) ((but it is hard to budget when you have days at work where you make over 40$ an hour, like my friday was))

I really like this mod because I was the one who put my stickers on however everybody else likes it I guess just because like you said it is unique.

Ordered shackles and BL parts.. minus the M12 - 1.25x180 bolts.. those are a pain to find. Going to a local store to see if they carry them, if not.. calling metricspecialties.com tomorrow.

To be installed on a small mod day at Daves in the near future.

Also talking to people about fabbing some sliders, maybe rear bumper.. all that fun stuff.

This was a major source of confusion today. Driving down the road, I thought it was brakes, in a parking lot, I was proven wrong. Thought about posting on here, but after laying under the truck, my problem was quickly understood.

Any solutions to this? JB Weld?

Used the rotary tool to cut mine off. 2 years later no issues at all. Use a vise grip to hold it.

Ben

so it IS all right to cut the flex pipe off? ive wanted to do that for so long! ive heard people say its useless and others say without it, it puts ware on the pipe bolts and blah blah blah.

The actual braided flex pipe? No I wouldn't recommend it. The loose metal heat shield rings can be removed with no problems. The flex pipe needs to be there to allow give. If its replaced with solid pipe binding could occur between the two pipes. The result would be like a paper clip bending back and forth till it cracks. However, the early pathfinders and hardbody trucks do not have a flex pipe. But, the Y pipe is between the headers where the there is very limited movement.

thanks for the eye opening response, i guess the only thing i can do now to my exhaust would be to smooth out the Y pipe to flow more parallel into a 1/4" bigger pipe to a super 40 muffler.

Totally scrapped the idea for my sliders last night after talking to Sean (NMTerra) and Alex (KUMA). I am re working the ideas now.. And I think I like this new idea a bit more. When they get welded next week I will be sure to post up.

In other news, I am lifting my truck tomorrow. Yeah, I am excited enough to post whore about it in my build thread.

YEAH! I am finally lifted.. and protected.

Next paycheck will bring new shocks, TC IAB, and I want to get SAW torsion bars, because I need new ones, and the torsion bars need to be re-indexed..

So we will see what happens when I get everything done. But I am excited to see what happens next.
