RLC Rear bumper?

As I continue my search and decision-making process on finding a rear bumper, it dawned on me that I couldn't recall if RLC offered a rear bumper.

Does anybody have any insight on this?

Yeah they have one but last I heard they needed to test it on one more before selling

Casey and Jackstilts both have one. I think they are the only 2 made. James is awesome and might be worth the call

My favorite rear is Jack Stilt's. It was the first made by RLC. When I spoke with James back in March about having one made, he was busy and said he needed my vehicle in the shop in either June or July to get everything perfect. Call him up!

Well, I'll be giving James a call this week, probably tomorrow morning, to see what he's got to say about building a rear bumper even though I know he hasn't gone full-production on them yet.

Let him know there is interest from others. The X community obviously loves his work. I will gladly run my X by the shop to get things measured up for you. Let me know.

I have the front.
Would buy a rear from them if I could.

Good to know. Quality is key.

I absolutely will let him know. And yes, I'll let you know what he says about needing measurements etc. and let him know you're willing to stop by to help with that. Thank you! I'd do it myself but Kentucky is a little far from Massachusetts, haha.

Do you have a body lift on your truck, by the way?

Haha yeah, that's a bit more than a casual weekend trip. I got you!

I don't have a BL, however, I imagine James will use the same mounting concept that he used for the front, IE, it will just have holes drilled 2" above/below to account for one.

I talked to James, he says any measurements he would need would be for the tire carrier but that he's pretty sure he's all set. Any fitment issues were from building a BL bumper from measurements taken from a non-BL truck, which is great news for me since I don't have or plan on a BL.

He gave me an estimate on cost, including shipping, and says he's about 5 weeks out on lead time. I'm impatient so that seems like an eternity, haha, but compared to the competition we all know that's really not bad at all. I told him I'd give him a call tomorrow by 5 with my decision and then he can get started.

This is pretty exciting, I mean I really, really want a front bumper, but I actually need a rear, so function over form wins this time.

Pumped for you! I'm excited to see him pumping out another 1g rear as well. I've loved his others. He quoted me five and finished at 4, his turnaround time is pretty impressive. Best for of contact for me was via Facebook pm. He responded every day if I had questions. James is a cool dude for sure.

Best of luck!

Just got off the phone, bumper is ordered. :D He says 4-5 weeks, pretty awesome.

James also said that he DOES need some measurements for the tire carrier, so if you're still willing to swing by...that would be awesome. If you've got PayPal I'll even throw some beer money your way to say thanks :)

I would be glad to swing by. Let me know when he needs the vehicle in and I'll be there!

I am never one to turn down beer money, however, I'm just glad to help out not only James but a fellow X'er! This ones on the house.

Pumped to see the final product.

He didn't actually say when he needs it, it might be easier to work that out between you and him. It sounds like he's working on a few things right now.

I really appreciate your willingness to help out man, you rock!

Church, I just saw your question on my thread about the rear bumper and tire carrier. Haven't been active in a while, seems like you got everything sorted out! Let me know if you've got any more questions on it.

No worries man, I heard you were busy (and since I've got your attention here, congratulations on your news!)

Yeah, after I spoke with James about any measurement/fitment issues, I felt pretty confident to go ahead and place my order :D Thanks though!

I'm getting excited for the day I wake up and see a big heavy box or crate or something in my driveway :D

I've already started spraying the stock bolts with PB Blaster, even though I just had them off not too long ago, haha.

Little late to the party as well but glad to see you got everything sorted out! I highly doubt you'll be disappointed with the final product. Let me know if you have any questions as well!

hahahah good for you amigo :)

Thanks man. It's good to know we've got such great sponsors here.

I'm gonna flood this thread with pics when it shows up, just an FYI, lol.

I'll pick the bumper up for you and deliver it..in like 5 or so years.

Haha, I'd love to say yes but...wait, no I wouldn't.

Did you happen to contact James at all about measurements? I've been holding off on calling him, I know he's busy and I don't want to look all "Where's my bumper? Did you start it yet? How are the welds looking? What color are your eyes? Boxers or briefs?"

Thanks man, yeah I'm pumped. I'm so sick of lugging my spare tire in and our of the back of the truck every time I need to go to the dump or haul something in the back.

Too bad this guy didn't just hit my bumper.... I want a rear tire carrier

Sorry man, maybe next time? (Kidding of course, I don't wish that on anyone here).

Where are you at with that by the way?

They are taking forever at the body shop with it. I can't complain about having a 2015 frontier but I can because it's not an xterra. I wish they'd total it so I can go buy another one

I contacted him via his business facebook page and believe I heard back from him within a day or two. That is the BEST way to contact him IMO because he checks it for business reasons and can check it when HE is ready to. That way you avoid bothering him. Do that and you'll hear back. He's a trustworthy guy and will stay true to his date. He was upfront and honest about when he would start mine and finished earlier than he even told me.

Over the last couple of days (and this morning, too) I've gotten some cool news from James. The bumper portion is done and the hinge & latch pieces for the tire carrier should be there Tuesday.

I also realized that I might not be home when the bumper may arrive, I'll be gone all weekend, but he says I'll have it before then, which is very cool.

I've been wanting this bumper since I saw #1 and #2..So sick.

Also, he's such a tease when he makes bumpers. When I had my front made, he posted an old pictures that mine was based off of on his facebook page before sending me pictures haha.

As we dound out with Casey's bumper the welds hold up to a 45°angle pull draging him through a ton of mud
