Review: CJX IMS

Bought an X
Initial Overview:
I just installed the CJX IMS about a thee months ago. The quality of the packaging and the instructions for installation were on par with what I would expect them to be.

Installation:
The installation was pretty straight forward; we ran into a few snags. One of the instructions did not have a clear picture of what to remove, I believe it was Step 3 or 4, but it was a piece located at the back of the Intake Manifold. I lost my 10mm wrench, which is 100% required; we were trying to remove the stud with a crescent wrench, and that didn't work for shiz! I will say, I also lost one bolt but it was not a very important bolt; and I'm sure the bolt is leading a fulfilling and happy life now that it is freed from the Nissan; no more tight spaces with other metal components....

Initial Assessment:
I immediately noticed a gain in the middle of the power band. The gains are noticeable outside of the butt dyno, but not noticeable like if you went from no bolt-ons to all the bolt-ons. It was there, but I would question the 23/33 hp/tq gains FOR MY VEHICLE. I did the relearn procedure outlined in the paperwork, but I don't know if it went through correctly, to be honest. My MPG's have not been affected as much as I thought, but I would say I did see about a 1 MPG increase; though I was expecting 2-3MPG's, which would have been about a 15-20% increase. The testing has been performed over the last couple of months, just normal driving. I went from 15.5mpg to around 16.5mpg.

Final Overview:
I'm happy with the purchase. I think the price-point was excellent, the instructions were pretty good (only a few minor things I would change), and the quality of the product was exceptional. I remember reading about the earlier products not being of great quality, due to bad drill bit, etc, but this one did not have any quality issues at all.

3 Week Update:
For those that are wondering, I'm updating this on occasion to help people make the decision whether or not to add this mod to their truck. As far as performance, there is definitely a noticeable gain in power across the middle of the power band; more get up and go when it's needed. As far as MPG gains, I have seen an improvement from 15.4mpg's on the dash to 16.1mpg's; the gas has stayed the same, the places I'm driving is the same, but my driving has gotten more aggressive. I have noticed a greater gain when driving on the highway though, I'm assuming because I'm in more of the area where the greatest hp/tq gains are realized.

Even though I don't have a 2nd gen, what is the "CJX IMS?" It was referred to once and never again. Just trying to help your review.
