I'm looking for a place to a signal for reverce lights in the cab of the truck to wire to a 3 position switch for some rear mounted flood lights. I will be using the switch to run a relay with a on,off, auto option. I am more than proficient with wireing but I still need to find a signal wire and I don't want to spend hours testing wires to find what I need.

I did something like this. Wired up my rear LED flood light to the reverse lights, and wired them up to a switch so I can manually turn them on. They work great and all. But i noticed that when I turn them on while driving forward, off road, the transmission turns off overdrive. Like the OD OFF light doesn't come on on the dash, but i know it turned OD off due to the higher rpms and that. Is this normal? Thanks for any input!!

I tapped into the wire that connects to the reverse light. Its like 2 inches from the bulb.
