I've been asked about my rear storage setup and what I carry on the trails a few times, so I’ll detail it here. I'll add pictures later.

I built an interior rack out of the Harbor Freight hitch basket (this has been documented by a few people I believe. I can do another write up of that if needed). My rack has been made shallower to allow my Power Tank to fit in the rear corner.

Also have 1 of the Hep’s Window panels.

  • 8 Gallon Action Packer #1

  • Under Rear Seat - Craftsman Box
    • Soldering Iron
    • Solder
    • Wire Stripper
    • Various wire
    • Various connectors, end, plugs etc
    • Electrical tape
    • Wire ties

What level of wheeling do you do? Would be cool to build a full guide of sorts with a “Level 1” “Level 2” etc. next to each item for all different types of terrain or activity.

Also, for the PB Blaster and Brake cleaner, are those the pressurized aerosol types? I’m scared to keep anything like that in there due to heat. I remember a guy that had spray paint cans in the car on a hot day and one blew up as soon as he picked up the bag and it moved.

I typically run blue and black trails. Very rocky, boulder fields, loose ass hill climbs etc. So my chances of breaking something are pretty good. Haha!

I should have stated that the action packers don't live in the X. Only for wheeling trips. Never had an issue.

I don't see any half shafts.

I carry these things in one of the metal tool bins of my service truck. Never once had one explode. Maybe if it was in direct sunlight, constantly exposed to temps over 120 degrees. But it gets hot here, especially in southern UT.
