Hi guys I searched for this on the forum but did not find anything, my X got a rattle coming from the rear gate, is not the suspension, its inside the cabin coming from the back im sure its the gate. Any of you had this issue? and how can I solve it? its driving me mad.

Take a hammer and firmly tap on the rear face of the strike at the bottom of the hatch to shift it toward the front of the truck. I bet that has moved over the years and your hatch is just loose.

Yes, loosen the three screws on plate in the floor where latch meets and as others say, bump it up the 32-64th of an " fwd and retorque those screws.

My shimmy/squeak stopped immediately and hasn't returned in a few years.

Our '06 has a rear hatch that's been slightly loose for a while. I tried loosening the bolts on the striker to move it, but it just ends up in the same place when I tighten it back up because they're self centering.

It sounds like I was doing it wrong... I need to loosen the bolts on the latch in the door itself, adjust it, then tighten?
