Raptor Mod

i was wondering if anyone on here could give like a description of how to do the "raptor mod" as people call it. It consists of putting Amber led lights in the grill to give it the same look as the Ford Raptor. I saw someone on the forum had done this mod, and now I want to do it.

Basically I was wondering like led lights people have used, and how they went about wiring them. I would think your would just splice them into the Orange lights that come on with the headlights, but I am not sure. The help would be great.

I've been getting things together to do this mod over my holiday break in december. If you google satoshi mod or satoshi grill, you will have better results. The leds I have that I'll be using are these
I will be wiring them (haven't decided series or parallel) to tap into the parking lights so that when I have them on, the leds will also be on. The only reason I haven't done this yet is because I want to make sure that my led placement will be visible when I have my new bumper on.

They're 12v LEDs so you'll need to do them in parallel.

I like these little led's, I just can't think of a good use for them at the moment for my X or trailer. They seem like they would be really useful in the right situation.

I used two of those little LEDs you posted when I had to move the license plate because of the tire carrier. I think I got mine off eBay or Amazon. I'll try to hunt down a link and post it up.

Holy cow hot poop. How did I not think of this. My license plate setup on my X is redneck at best and hillbilly at worst. I need some of these.

Is it illegal to put your plate on a hinge?

I have the little LED bolt lights up top and the amber strip along the bottom of the license plate holder it works pretty good!

Anyway! Back on topic. I just ordered THESE to do the Raptor Mod! I have an idea that I think will work. I'll post up here when I get er put in!

So I got some lights to put in the grill, but I am wondering what would be the easiest way to access the parking lights wires to tap into. I have a 2nd Gen X, also. Like did you guys take the whole bumper off and everything, or can you like go through the wheel well?

I am also looking at doing this mod, but I am just going to install three of these LEDs above the Nissan front emblem since there are solid pieces in the honey comb grill insert. I just need to figure out if I can wire them all together and splice into the parking lights or have to do them individually.

That's what I did. I ran all of my wires from each light into 2 wires, hot and ground, then tapped straight into my parking lights. It's all LED so it won't overload the system haha
