Question About Warn Locking Hubs

Man, I've been away for a long time! But the decks are finally cleared, and I'm ready to get back to work on GREENIE.

Sooo . . . first thing is to install the set of WARN locking hubs I scored at Pick'n'Pull last year. I probably need to order the 29061 service kit from WARN, but I'm not sure if it has everything I need. See, I mangled the snaprings when I removed the hubs in the junk yard (due to not having the proper tool, because I was not expecting to find a set of lock-outs), so I definitely NEED new snaprings. The description of the service kit lists the snaprings among the included parts, but they are not shown in the picture. Can anyone confirm that the snaprings are INDEED included in the 29061 service kit?

Thanks. I e-mailed WARN as well, but I figure I'll probably get a quicker answer here.

WELL, nobody ever answered this question, so I guess I'd better do it myself, in case some other poor, uninformed soul needs the info. Due to the COVID situation, it took WARN a couple of weeks to reply to my inquiry. The answer was thus: "No, the service kit does NOT contain replacement snap-rings." Those, I later learned, are a NISSAN part that is already on the truck. Yeah, I'm a dummy, but since I removed the WARN hubs from a junker at Pick'N'Pull, I did not KNOW that they were a NISSAN part that I already had. I'd never installed lock-outs on any other vehicle, so I plead ignorance. ANYWAY, after I figured that out, I went ahead and ordered the service kit, and after over a year, finally got my second-hand, like-new WARN lock-outs installed on Greenie. YEA!

Side note, I had a winch issue with Warn and it also took a looong time to get a response. I emailed, then waited a couple of days, then I ended up calling them and we figured out the issue. Then, a couple weeks later I got the email response. I'm done with QuaranTimes and am ready for normal.

Glad you got your situation squared away.
