Proper spec for ordering Titan Swap Alcan springs?

I need some kind of consensus. I've heard lots of numbers thrown around. But, really. If I were to order Alcan's right now. What weight/lift should I order? most common I've heard is +450lbs +5" because of settling.

Shrock rear bumper w/ 35s, going to be doing a steel insert roof rack at some point, probably a gobi ladder, I'll probably be adding an air tank where the spare used to be, maybe some other steel weight back there for organization at some point, and I'll probably be sitting 4" or so on the front for suspension. I have 2" lift shackles already. But I don't know if I want to run those all the way out or down to half and make up the rest with springs.

HALP!

Get your junk weighed.
I run +400 and they've always been too soft.
@jsexton runs close to +1000 or so.
Weighing is the only true way. They won't settle as much if they're built for proper weight.

I ran 4” +600 and they were also too soft.

best bet is to weigh your truck while loaded for wheeling and order whatever over you are on the rear axle.
Stock is 2120 lbs on the rear axle.

That makes sense. What about lift? Is it worthwhile to run 4" on the springs and set the shackles back to stock? Or split it? 2" on the springs and 2" on the shackles so you get a better spring arch?

yea, I'd do 4" and set the aftermarket shackle on the lowest setting (1").

that's what I did. Only made it to the middle hole before the leafs fatigued and cracked.

yea, IDK. I'm not thrilled. But I did wheel on them a lot. Probably 60 trips or more. And I was getting about 12" of travel - probably pushed them a little too far on up travel (I reworked all the shock mounts to maximize travel).

That's the problem. I liked them - they rode really nice. Just wish they lasted longer. Hopefully mine were just a fluke.

I'm really short on time - I'm building a bastard pack starting with OME and probably mixing in what's left of good leafs from my alcan pack. It will do for now. Definitely not the "right" way but it will work.

With the Titan axle out back I'll probably have to limit up travel a bit to keep the tires out of the wheel wells. So maybe.

I'll echo the others.... Get it weighed. and figure out what your max loads are....

I'm running 4" and +900. but I tow and do the RTT thing, and have all my shiat back there. When I weighed it I 650 lbs over stock as my DD.

I don't know how much actual travel at the wheel I have in the rear, but when I flex tested it with a fork lift, I can lift any corner of the X 22" before any other wheel lifts off the ground.

I also think @jsextons cracked and broken was a fluke.

I'm likely as loaded as I'll ever be today. So I'll hit the scales in Grand Junction on the way to UT. Thanks guys.
Any Pilot TS that has a CAT scale. $12.50 and you got your loaded number.

Stock suspension with an extra leaf:
My numbers unloaded were:
Steer Axle 2680
Drive Axle 2480
Gross Weight 5160

Loaded for the road trip we took:
Steer Axle 2640
Drive Axle 2980
Gross Weight 5620

I wasn't too surprised at the numbers as I knew that our stuff wasn't the lightest in the world.

Just for reference, I weighed my bone stock pro4x 6mt

Steer: 2340
Drive: 2120
Gross: 4460

I believe it had a full tank and was empty other than that. Been a while though.

^^^ Looks like you pack about as much stuff as I do. I did have a copilot with me during both weighs.
And I was standing on the front pad both times, had to make sure that both scenarios were pretty much the same. ;)

At current, keeping the stock CV shaft. When the Titan axle goes in next week I'm having them set the proper pinion angle for the lift. It'll probably drive like dogshiat until the spring go in.

I like rake. I want the factory 1". I run my TS in the front at ~3" of lift.

I have Alcans +4" @ 500lbs. When I first get them (3 years ago, maybe 35k miles) I had the 1" of rake at the LOWEST settiing on my PRG shackle. They kept settling further & further... now I am at the highest setting the PRG shackle and I barely have any rake, if any. They settled nearly 2"!!

IDK if I'm doing something wrong or what. I do a lot of off-roading but not a lot of towing or heavy loading. Should I really expect springs to only last 3 years? Maybe getting a shop to re-arch them is "routine maintenance"?

IMO they should last the life of the vehicle. The springs I have on the truck now are 14 years old and completely over thier weight capacity. But they still hold the truck up. I would hope that's properly weight adjusted set of springs would last at least that long.
