Hey man, I recently bought David Boyd’s Calmini SAS’d Xterra with the Waggy D44 front. If you ever need me to measure anything or take photos, let me know. I’ll be glad to help, although this is my first SAS’d truck so I’m learning a bit as I go.
Excellent! I dropped in your thread to check it out, congrats!

Thank you, but I sold the Waggy axle and went Ford high pinion. This will be more fitting for how hard I drive this thing.

Getting ready to turn my vg33e into vg33er, if my vg33e is a 5 speed is there anything else I need to worry about as far as ECM ?
Hey there,

Make sure you get a manual ECU, but assuming you have all of the other ancillary items: Crank pulley, AC pulley (or compressor), injectors, lower intake, upper intake, supercharger, passenger valve cover (or custom PCV setup), belt tensioner bridge, and brake booster line (Or again custom). You should be set. Of course, feel free to reach out or post here if you need any further help.

A few things have changed.
-Waggy axle is gone, and has been replaced with a Ford Dana 44HP axle.
-We are working on building TX10/TX10 doublers, shoot me a message if you are interested. (expect a group buy soon after I get some miles on mine. )

I am working on an Excel for the the supercharger setup as well as the Dodge 1500 brake booster install with ABS using cheap factory BMW parts.

Photos soon to be added.

I would be interested in a doubler group buy! Glad to see you got everything worked out with the axle, you will be much happier with the HP axle, can't wait to see this thing done!

Alright, once we get the test unit installed I will reach out to you guys who are interested in the doublers.

Small update: 44HP is now shortened by 3'' on the long side, full chromoly axles, chevy outers to retain the six lug and flat top knuckles.

Typical me, the daily has received more attention than the Nissan, but progress is happening. Once the axle is back from the builder we will have a roller.

UPDATE!!

After an incredibly busy fourteen months I finally had some time to get her back on the ground. I need to move the front axle back a hair, but other than that, it's time to weld!

Side note: If I haven't said it enough, stay away from the Waggy axle. They are too expensive, don't fit right and are too narrow. I couldn't be happier with my 3" narrower F250 D44HP.

Looks great dude! It seems like you had it ready to go on leaf springs and decided to go to links, other than links being great what made you switch? Can't wait to see this thing wheel!
Thanks Man! So, a few reasons. First, I didn’t want to run leafs in the beginning but due to time/lack of skill, I headed that way. Second, I was trying to do it under a strict budget. Ultimately, after driving my Landcruiser during the swap, I knew I couldn’t settle. Plus, I had blown way past my goal timeline.

I sent it to a friend to do the links as that was over my head.

I'll take that doubler action too. I tried to get one made after running it up in CAD and it would cost more than buying an Atlas as a one-off jobber in Los Alamos NM.

Awesome. I will keep you posted as well. We are ready to make some aluminum chips, just waiting for some down time. The machines are currently handing the "keeping the lights on" tasks for the shop.

For your chevy outers did you change the knuckles out or reuse the ford knuckles and spindles with chevy hubs and bearings. I am changing mine to 6 bolt pattern and not sure if I need to find knuckles as well.

Hey Beefy,
So, for my setup I used everything from the u-joint out is Chevy: outer stub shaft, knuckle, brake backing plate, caliper, disc, etc.

Really the only thing Ford left is the housing, and the inner axle shafts

Excited to see how the supercharger swap turns out, I know a guy in Denver running a supercharger on his Frontier with the N/A ECU with no issues. I love the first gen X's but the lack of power is a major down side.

Are you going to run the supercharger on the stock engine with the 9:1 compression? Do you have an idea of how much boost you are going to be running?
I may be that "guy in Denver" and the NA computer did "work" but not really well. Ran super rich.

Need to finish reading but I didn't realize yours was a swap - thought it was a factory SC for some reason. Glad to see you did it too. And new heads? Nice work.

Thanks Paul! I actually bought this truck with a blown head gasket, and still drove it for another six months before it finally let go. I figured what better time to do the supercharger? Ha.

Thanks for keeping up with this thread. Your build is a real inspiration.

Im piecing my Supercharger together now. I hope to start installing it soon. I also have the first gen. Sometimes I think I have more fun in the garage than using it. But burnout is real. Gotta mix the fun stuff in with the boring stuff.

Anyway, can’t wait to see the 37 on. Congrats on all you hard work
