It was a random ebay find. Some dude just happened to have one. That looks good tho.
It came out nice just painting a rectangle of trim color under the emblem location. Still would have preferred the original like yours. Good find. Are you just keeping the standard bumpers on your new blu machine?

No. Bumpers will be changed. I may resolve to building them if I can't find what I'm looking for.

Building rear bumper parts in CAD. Got most set up for SCS. The skin, the frame stiffeners. The tire carrier is going to be play by ear. I need someone who can bend DOM. figured out hitch and shackle mounts. The frame brackets to bumper skin are going to be cut to fit once I get the other parts.

So the Shrock 1st Gen bumper had no support structure behind the skin. The hitch and shackle mounts were just welded to the bumper. The 2nd Gen had a tube that ran across behind the skin that the hitch was attached to. I want to replicate that but attach the tube to the frame. It's gonna be over built AF.

Boo....I asked SCS to to do the entire skin of the bumper in one piece. It's 45½" wide. They're max width for bending pieces is 44" damn. So I guess I'm getting three separate pieces and welding them together.

Pricing so far:
$60 each for the frame stiffeners and mine create a full box at the end of the frame rail.
$250 for 3½" tube to run between the frame rails.
$20 for the hitch tube
$40 for shackle mounts
$150 for the carrier hinge

Need to figure out the parts for the carrier.

Dayam, while I’ve been away looks like you’ve been creating quite a special project. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Amazing rebuild Prime! Almost intimidating....

I get the dynamat. Once owned a WD-21 Pathfinder. Went everywhere, even stock but was a bit like a hollow tin can. 2nd gen X is better though I wonder if I should dynamat at least the doors.

I did a lot of mat in the 2nd Gen as well. And it definitely makes a difference.

1st gen best gen.

Glad to see you went back to the 1st gen. If you need I can bend a tube for the rear bumper carrier. Shipping would suck but it's probably only 20$ in steel. You could come out and wheel Grand Junction save the cost of shipping.

And then got home. Cleaned all the water spots. Reapplied 303 to the black trim, and cleaned the windows.

I'd never have done that for gray truck. It'd just stay dirty till it rains.

But looking at this, makes me smile.

I might just order a replacement leaf bushing to replace the stock one I had to destroy and put them back on. Or given the cost, I might just get shackles. Sigh.
