The only rear diffs I've seen granade have been open..... I've seen axles twist on an e locked diff, but the diff was fine....

If you were running a 2 spider version, you're sure as hell not gonna blow the 4 spider version.

I'm glad you decided to go E locker.... I just wish Nissan had offered an E locked front
I wish somebody made something other than an ARB. A Detroit Tru-Trac posi would be ufcking awesome up front.

I think.

The reality for Moab this year. I install the Titan rear & 205. V8 Pathy half shafts. And the rest of the front stays intact as it is. Having to buy a new locker for the rear ufcked up the budget.

At least I'll be swapped, geared, and have the shocks and uppers for the front. I just don't have the coin to get all of the brake parts and shiat for the front to finish the complete swap by gone.

Drivers side timing solenoid is LEAKING LIKE A MUH-UFCKA! haha. It thought as much. Those gaskets didn't look great. Ordered new ones. I hope that the passenger side one stays dry. Because I don't feel like pulling the intake again.

So what is the real advantage of doing this? (Inquiring minds want to know.)
They're red and cool looking.

But seriously, I'm not sure yet. I will say that revs feel smoother and the truck feels less likely to stall off the line.

But really, at 160k, I needed to do a tune up. And these coils were $19/ea. And someone gifted me the parts to make the adapters. So I said, why not?

Lkq,my dude.
So. I just found out that the locker in my TItan axle is exploded.

Fine.

I need to do something about it. I'm too far in to back out now. I've got ALL the other parts for that axle sitting here at the house. And I got the axle for free. So I assumed that risk. Now. The question.

Do I replace it with a newer factory E-Locker? Can get that for $730 from Summit. Plug/play. All my factory wiring works. Nothing else to do.

OR

Do I get an ARB for $1000, Compressor $250, reworking the wiring, taking the time to install the compressor.

My complication is that I WANT air. It's always been in the plan to have OBA. And I think if I already had it and it was installed, I'd probably go straight to the ARB and just redo the wiring. But the extra $500 and time doesn't sound worth it to me at the moment. BUT. I know the ARB is a better locker.

BUT. That $500 helps pay for the front regear. Which I need in order to finish the swap.

Torn. Torn like an old sweater!

Note. When doing valve cover gaskets, go to the dealership and buy two 23797-ZA000 Timing Solenoid Gaskets. They're like $2. And you'll want new ones.

I replaced the drivers side one this afternoon as the old one was leaking like a sieve. Took 10 minutes. I imagine I'll be pulling the intake again to do the passenger side one in the near future. It's not leaking. Yet.

Update. Drivers side timing solenoid is now leaking. So I guess I'm pulling the intake again this weekend.

And, with the new coils it seems like the truck is unstallable. With the previous setup if the revs dropped to 500 the truck would just die. Now, not so much. And it's definitely smoother off the line.

Official. Engine is no longer leaking oil.

Power steering fluid and coolant is another issue.

The coolant leak is from the drain plug on the CSF radiator. I need to pull it and go see if autozone has a viable replacement. Which of course means draining the coolant. We'll see if I get to that before gone.

Is it a pipe thread? Leave the caps on, pull the old one, screw in a pipe plug and go get a replacement. Most are 1/8 or 1/4 pipe thread on aftermarket stuff.

Got a wild hair up my ass. Time to fix my stereo. I have the stock RF system. But. I also have my 5-channel Infinity amp and 10" JL Sub sitting in the garage. Time to do a thing.

I'm going to fabricate a mount to hold the infinity amp in the same place as the stock RF amp. Power is right underneath the back seat. Speaker wire is all right there. All I have to do is run a wire for the sub to the back and RCAs from the head unit. Plus I want a new head unit. My Android radio is just slow. And old. I want it to be a thing though. Basically having an android tablet function as a radio is pretty damn cool. And you can do a lot with it vs a normal head unit. Like being able to run Spotify and store the music on an SD card for the best quality and not using cellular data.

So its time to shop for more things.

I've been thinking I want a head unit with two camera ports sos I can see the one in front when wheeling if wanted/needed..

*and the highlighting something and not getting a quote option kinda blows..
Was thinking about that too. Backup camera is a given. Front camera might be interesting.
