What I did;
I not only needed to have access to the tank but needed it to be mounted upright so that it was able to run my lockers while driving so I got a mounting bracket when I got the tank. This as you know is not necessary if you are going to take the tank out to use (to fill a tire, set a bead, run tools, etc.).

I have two mounted to the body of the truck (one in use and one as back up).
I cut the carpet then drilled three holes in the floor, filed, spray painted and ran bolts through them.

I lay the carpet back over the bottom of the holder to avoid the metal on metal vibrations.

I found that alone it was not secure enough to keep the whole deal from rattling around so I detached it and…

Just above the pocket and below the speaker I found a strip of sheet metal under the plastic molding. I figured out where to drill lining up two holes through it and the molding.
I ran a long (maybe 6”) but not very thick (1/8-1/4”?) through the sheet metal and secured it to the sheet metal with a lock nut. Put the plastic molding back running the protruding bolts through it and added another lock nut.

I then lined up the detached tank bracket to those bolts and drilled holes through it.
I secured the bracket to those bolts with a nut on one side and a lock nut on the other cutting off the excess of the bolts.

I then bolted the bracket to the floor as before.

It was a lot of work but it does not move now and when I did the other side it went pretty smooth.

Joe - yeah it has that bracket like a fire extinguisher but you have to find a spot for it! Also considering a cargo /tool box with room on one side for the tank. Thinking cap weekend...

Does it have to be stored upright? Perhaps its 1st gen rear shelf time, you could build a tool box with a few drawers built into it and mount the tank horizontally and still have room for other stuff back as well

Does it have to be mounted inside? I've seen a few rigs with powertanks installed on the rear bumper/tire carrier.

Stored no it doesn't have to be upright but in order to use it the tank must be at least a 30 deg angle. Mine is mounted similar to Bklyn's.

As long as you don't need to use it as it is stored you could hang it any way you like. Just remember that getting it out on the trail to use would be a pain if its hard to get to. It's not as light as a tow strap...

got the exact same setup as Racer. Nice to have that lock point in there as well. Will be including an aluminum T-Block soon to allow for the air to split off for when I want a locker or for tire filling. Similar to Toms.

My block splits the air;
Air in

I cannot air up tires without disconnecting the block (lockers run at 80 psi, at 90 the safety valve blows).
Filling tires at 80 psi would suck especially since I can get 200 out of that tank.
You need to isolate your locker from the high psi needed to fill tires. I find it easy enough to use the quick disconnect at the tank since its easy to accesses.

Valid points. I like it. Where did you get the solinoid valves? When you shut the lockers down, how do you depressure the line?

Used three 5/16 18 hex bolts --> bolt/washer/body/washer/lock washer/nut/nut/washer/plastic panel/washer/lock washer/nut

Nice and clean mounting job MNterra.
It used to cost me around $35 to refill my 10# tank here in Brooklyn at a fire extinguisher shop. What a rip off. When the inspection on my tank ran out I started swapping empty tanks for filled ones at a welding shop for $20 instead of paying to get my tank inspected and refilled. Still a rip off but cheaper and I’ve lucked out the last few times and got aluminum tanks on my trades.

come with the ARB locker along with the activation switches, airline and bulkhead fittings.
The ARB solenoid valves depressurize the line when you shut them off.
