Group buy is CLOSED! Thank you to all who ordered. We had a very strong response. Between locals and forum members have made over 20 pairs of sliders and numerous process and product improvements.

With each new product we will be partnering with XterraNation.org to offer a pre-release group buy. This starts now with a traditional product that every trail truck needs: Rock sliders. We want everyone to have the opportunity to start their armor collection while their
truck is still pretty. And we believe you shouldn’t have to drop a paycheck, (or two) on this protection. We will offer our rock sliders in 3 styles. Every set uses 5/16" or greater steel plate flanges, gusseted support tubes, 2â€￾x2â€￾ 3/16â€￾ wall square tube rub rails and class 10.9 (grade 8 equivalent) mounting hardware or greater. Tubing is 1.75â€￾ .120 wall round tube.

UPDATE: 1st & 2nd gen Xterra & Frontier sliders now come with a universal mounting bracket that will allow 1 product to fit standard body (no body lift) & 2" body lifted trucks. No need to buy new sliders, no need to modify.

We are offering these for standard and 2â€￾ body lifted 1st Gen Xterra 2nd Gen Frontier Crew Cab & Xterra These sliders will come in unfinished steel. We recommend a finish of spray on bed liner prior to installation. If we powder coated these you would rub it off and have to paint over it down the line anyway. We pass the savings on to you. We do have finishing options available at an additional cost if you would like them to arrived finished ready to bolt on. Paint, bedlining or powder coating is available for an additional charge. We are asking for a 50% deposit up front to hold your spot and 50% upon shipment. We are going to run this through the end of the year but orders will ship as they are completed. Feel free to contact me at Mac@EngineeringPP.com Basic .

I've been looking at different sliders so it's good to see another option. Pics are appreciated. Also what forms of payment do you take?

That's for your patience guys. Been hard at work getting the shop setup all weekend.

I have attached a basic set here bolted to my truck. I actually found some light rocker damage to my truck that I didn't even know I took when I was bolting these on.

I will be getting the other options setup over this week but I will get you the cad drawings when I get home tomorrow.

You might think "how many ways can a slider with a top tube be made?" but we it a little creative and did something I haven't seen anyone do yet. I love the result. I hope you guys will too.

Got some time to get these up in between running to get some new shop equipment and ordering a TON of material for all the different projects we have in progress.

Its nothing outlandish but we used non-standard bend angles and got rid of the typical symetry. I think it looks great. Hope to have a few sets installed to get pics of this weekend after the holiday.

These look great!

Have you thought about changing the ends of the box to 45 degree angles, like Rocky Road Outfitters?

5thgen_4runner_superslider1_med.jpg

I have seen those and I have thought about it. But it is another operation which means more labor and more consumables. In keeping our prices as competitive as possible I am trying to keep the design utilitarian and prioritize the most functional features.

But as we are a small shop we are always willing to incorporate custom touches you may not be able to with other places that churn out parts in larger batches. You can feel free to drop me a PM or an email to talk about options.

Whats your lead times?

I like your business philosophy, I'd support that.

We are spending a lot of time prototyping parts right now but it looks like we will be able to start shipping these the first of the year. We MAY be able to get a couple rush shipments to deliver by Christmas.

2nd gen Xterras may take a touch longer as I need to find a volunteer to verify fitment. Was actually just about to post a thread on it in a couple days once we get the latest design changes made to the 2nd gen model and prototype.

I'd be willing to volunteer if you are in my area.

Sent from over there...

We have design and prototyping in the greater Nashville area and manufacturing in north central Indiana.

We could arrange a time in either location.

We bent a ton of tube and played with several different angles this weekend. Think this is what we settled on for our model 2. Front to the right of the pic.

This makes me excite.

Me too!

I would love to maybe get in on this. Merry Christmas to me!

I'd get in on some of this action for sure. My local slider fab fell through, so I'm still on the hunt.

We are getting a paypal setup and linked up to out bank account as we speak. Waiting for everything to be verified before we post it all up. Then we will be takin deposits.

Have a huge order for steel in and ready to pick up on Monday the 9th.

Will we be seeing a full on mounted finished product before we put down on a deposit?

You are more than welcome to wait to see a finished set of prototypes before putting a deposit down. We actually anticipate getting a prototype mounted and beating up on it around the same time as the paypal account being ready.

We can also accept check or money order and can ship our basic protection sliders pictured above immediately starting 12/10, the day after our first material shipment. Please allow 3 days for a personal check/MO to clear.

Also will these accommodate Hi-Lifts for lifting the truck?

Yes.

They still welcome people?

They have to answer to other sponsors who PAID to advertise...and if they let SOME people advertise for free, then, the others will cancel paid ads and advertise for free.

We, here, are not beholden to advertisers, so, we don't really care.

I disagree ;) Respectfully

Many of the sponsors that are on CX haven't paid in years.. But they will add new ones...

And here I only allow sponsors that really deal with our community.. (Like P&P)

Just poking ;) They do what they do.. And we will do what we do

Chive on!

Good luck catching a rock on that blunt end of the slider, might not turn out to pretty. Food for thought. (The 45 deg. is there for a reason, not just looks)

I would like to point out that many companies out there that are highly regarded with Jeeps, Toyotas and Nissans use the same style rub rail. And again, I would like to point out that we are willing to do 'to spec' work.

I see you didn't get a warm welcome on CX ;)

They were quicker to slash and burn the thread where I would have expected them to ask/tell us to edit out some information that encroached on their rules. It is what it is. I'll play by their rules in their house.

Are you guys in the Nashville area, and will local pickup be possible? Any ideas on shipping costs? I hate to be the grand inquisitor here throwing question after question guys. But I'm just damned excited about your product, and future products!
