If he ends up under water.. Where the snorkel was.. I think he then has to worry about his X being in a pond/lake or in the ocean, forever.

Its higher than the stock intake, but if anyone was ever in water that high (not that I ever plan to be) they would all have issues about being submerged forever. FWIW you'd need to do a lot more than a snorkel to make an X waterproof. I actually considered it a RAI (Raised Air Intake) to pull cleaner air rather than sucking in trail dust. I have succumbed to calling it a snorkel because I got tired of repeating myself.

They are a few places around the interweb to find these tires. I was lucky that there was a guy close to my house.

True, especially With your beast. I think for me it would be more for peace of mind that I'm not going to suck water.

Sent from the Nighthog mobile command unit.

good gawd that thing is brutal.... I definitely recognized the tread pattern on the new tires though..... I want to say that has got to be one of the most heavily modified 2nd gens still retaining the IFS, and looks very capable. Great job on it!

Any reason you chose the D60 and 14 bolt (maybe it has to do with the rear... I think its a semi float axle?)? Are they matched axles out of the same GM? Whenever you go and pick of the D60, make sure they have a forklift, or something. They weigh a ton.

Full float! Ya just picked up the 60. Started a build thread

Its a Dana 60 out of a 2004 Ford Super Duty. Need a DS drop - Chevy 60s are PS drop

Thanks Mel - sure thing! Here's where the secondary battery sits:

Ok, this is the second set up I've seen for Gen 2. Can this be done with Gen 1? Can it run all aux systems like cb, ham radio, lights, etc.? Can it be used as a jump system if batt 1 fails? How would jumping batt 1, if needed, affect this set up?
